Le Sorbelle is a great base to explore the Val d’Orcia. The location and the property itself are beautiful. The swimming pool although unheated is a great place to wind down after a hot day. The breakfast selection is plentiful and the staff are polite, kind and helpful. A couple of points to note. Check in is between 3-5pm only. We emailed them in advance that we will be coming later. Thankfully they were hosting a private event that evening and were ok for us to check in later. Rooms are cleaned only upon request. We stayed for 5 nights and asked for the rooms to be cleaned every alternate day which was fine for us. Lastly, given the property is surrounded by working farms, there are a lot of mosquitoes and midges / sandflies around. By our second night, we had enough of insect bites to request an insect repellent spray for the room from the staff which they promptly provided. We highly recommend purchasing some insect repellent to use on your skin as a precaution.
