This little cabin was just right for the two of us. We were traveling during the day and staying at the cabin at night. The sunsets were beautiful. The cabin was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was very quiet at night. The host was very accommodating and responsive to texts. We had a good experience at the Sugar Shack.
Really enjoyed my stay. Sunsets are beautiful. Looking forward to staying again and bringing my dog to hang out with Biggie Smalls (resident dog). Really enjoyed driving the winding roads on the way up to the cabin.
The yard and area were definitely not as plush and nice as pictured. It said small dogs welcome (which is why we chose it), but nowhere in the description or listing did it mention a pet fee. So when the owner emailed asking if we were bringing a dog, to let me know that there was a camp dog who was bigger but friendly. I replied âyes we are bringing our 4 month old small breed puppy. After that text exchange I got a Vrbo email telling me I owed a $30 pet fee. We were already an hour out so we had no choice but to pay it. There is very inadequate signage telling where to turn into to get to the cabin. The only check in info or instructions we got was that it was ready and the key was inside. When we finally got there we put our puppy down to pods and apparently other guests had dogs who proceeded to chase our puppy and scared her to death. Also, the listing said âadults only, no one under 21 allowed; but there were a couple of younger teenagers there hanging out. It was very disappointing after we got semi settled because we were hungry for dinner but there was no welcome note or book giving info on restaurants etc in the area or giving us the WiFi info to use, but the listing description said WiFi was available and the login would be provided beforehand, it was not, so it was difficult to get service to google for info. The listing also said Tv/satellite was available to the tv but it was only a RUKU box with the Ruku remote which HAD NO way to adjust the volume and there wa
The property is a great escape! Exactly what the listing shows, very clean and all the amenities. Really great secluded location with access to activities in the area. Bonfire , hot tub and cabin ! Great host, communicates and responds quickly ! Definitely going back
WE WANTED PEACE AND QUIET AND THATS WHAT WE GOT. HAD A WONDERFUL TIME SITTING ON THE PORCH DRINKING COFFEE AND WATCHING THE SUNSET ....... RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE
It was so nice to be out and away from the chaos of Noel but to be close enough to enjoy it. Melissa was a great host and made our stay relaxing! I can't wait to go back
The Little Sugar Shack was a perfect little weekend retreat for my husband and I! It was perfectly clean, the bed was comfy and Melissa made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable for our weekend. The surroundings are beautiful and so quiet and peaceful! And the hot tub was amazing, located just behind the cabin. Melissa is an outstanding hostess, top notch! I canât say enough about her hospitality. We will be back!! And FYI - kayak rental is available on the property!
The Sugar Shack was the absolute perfect little couples retreat that I was hoping it would be.
The Shack is beautiful, perfectly clean, surprisingly spacious, and even better than the listing makes it out to be. This is the perfect little getaway for someone looking to be on their own or with nature.
I cannot reccomend this place enough. And the host is absolutely amazing. Add onto this a very nice hottub and incredible sunset views, and the Sugar Shack of Southwest Missouri is worth every single penny.
