Room was clean. Staff was helpful. Amenities were overwhelming. Really be sure of what room you want before you book. We stayed at “Las Artistas” which I guess is a upgrade. I initially booked a SPA Garden Suite Adult, but everyone in our group booked Las Artistas. So we upgraded? Not really sure how it was an upgraded but we did it. The initial room in SPA Garden Suite, in my opinion was better than the River Suite “Las Artistas”. Upgrading our room allowed us in at the roof top pool, and eat a a couple speciality restaurants. The Artistas roof top pool is pretty cool but you have to be there as soon as it opens or before day light, because there is only about 10-12 spots. Upgrade Dining: To be honest it was kind of a let down for a signature/speciality restaurant like Kibi to be just “OK/average” nothing I ate made me say; “Man, I’m so glad we got the upgrade so we could eat here.” My wife and I did eat at Encanta the first night we were there. We didn’t have reservations, the “Butler” is the best perk of the upgrade. He took care of getting us in. “Yes” Encanta’s in my opinion was by-far the best meal during the stay “above average”. The rest of the group (6) never got in to eat there. If they had split up the group, my guess is they would have gotten a reservation. I’m not mad about having to upgrade our room and definitely not a “food snob”or “World Traveler” but in my opinion upgrading to “Artitas” wasn’t worth it.

Xcaret itself is beautiful and I plan to in the way future to return. The hotel offers so much to its clients it’s incredible. It’s huge there was lots of activities to do. The views were amazing. Everything about the hotel is great. I was just in awe. The only downfall was the staff. They were kind of snotty. I would try to ask questions and they answered respectfully but the way they looked said otherwise. When I would go somewhere and ask for a coffee or something they looked as if it was such an inconvenience. The whole time there was no one who was inviting and it just made my stay uncomfortable. Worst part was that it wasn’t just the staff at the hotel it was the theme parks too. It was weird it’s like they didn’t want people to be there. But other than the staff it was such a great stay. If you just ignore the staff and try to figure things out yourself it’s good enough.
