Vegetation overgrowth is ridiculous on the whole property. We didn't even enter the hot tub area. Vines (?) were growing down over the chairs. Also, the two mini-decks were overgrown. I saw what looked like poison ivy along the steps down to the beach but none of us broke out so maybe not. I didn't even attempt the "ladder stairs" down to the beach. So steep! And a long walk to White Horse Beach, no parking pass included in the rental. To top it all off they expected us to wash, dry and fold the towels and put them back where they were found! There wasn't enough time to do that plus I didn't know where they all had come from anyway with all the bedrooms and 12 people. I did good to get them in the dryer. We stripped the beds as asked, we wiped down the kitchen counters, emptied the trash, emptied the refrigerator, loaded the dishwasher and washed the dishes. I didn't sign up to be on the housekeeping crew. And as a friend who is familiar with Cape rentals said "who wants to trust the people who were there before you to do this. Who even knows if they really washed the towels?" We'll let others have this place.
Once in a lifetime whale experience on Manomet Point...
The house, itself, was more beautiful in person. The deck was, by far, the best feature of the house and where we spent the majority of our stay. The view of the ocean was absolutely amazing. We were able to see a variety of incredible wildlife from the comfort of our deck including humpback whales breaching the ocean surface, as well as a symphony of seals playing and sunbathing right in front of our deck. The stairs to the private beach are much less intimidating in person. We spent a lot of time on the private beach, it was great for searching for sea-glass, shells, rocks, even just for cooling off your feet in the water. The Whitehorse beach, just a short walk down the road, was wonderful for beach days (swimming and playing in the sand). We would definitely enjoy staying here again!
