Had an unexpected family emergency and had to leave immediately from my home in Michigan to get to the hospital to be with my 90 yr old mother. I drove all night with no sleep and I called the motel to see if I could check in early to get some sleep and they allowed me to check in immediately. They were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend staying here.
The room was fine when we walked in, but the headboards on the bed were covered in dust with visible fingerprints, The door look was extremely hard to latch. The door kept opening and the beds were hard as a rock. Good for a night but would definitely look elsewhere first.
Letâs start with the positives. The water pressure was good and itâs not the worst place Iâve ever stayed. It goes downhill from there. The towels are all varying sizes and smaller than they should be. The smell in the building is horrendous. It morphed overnight from smelling like a wet dog to pure, unfiltered diarrhea. It also appears to be somewhat of a party house for Poplar Bluff? Loud noises all night. Idk. If all this is worth $70 to you, have at it.
Book a queen suite. When we got into the room the window was open and the screen looked like it had been smashed. We asked to be moved. They moved us to a standard queen which was much smaller with less amenities. :( We stayed for 2 nights, no cleaning service for the room or even fresh towels until I called and complained. Thin pillows, the mattress slides on the bed. The towels were dingy grey, rough, and so small it took 2 to dry off. Pealing paint in the bathroom. No hangers, no iron (had to call and ask if they had one) no place to put clothes.
Inexpensive, minimal, basic accommodations. Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean, tho the 1 Q room incredibly small. No facial tissues, closet, drawers or hair dryer in room. Towels quite thin, but did the job. 2 of 3 ice machines either did not work or were out of ice--bummer. Really just needed an inexpensive hot shower and comfortable bed for 2 nights, and we got that.
Noisy being so Close to the road. No hot water. Towels are the size of regular hand towels. Raised my concerns and got a blank stare. No solutions. Nothing.
I understand that the property âmayâ have been going under some construction possibly, that maybe why there were pieces of wall plaster and spackle I think, dusted all over the 1st. floor hallway. Youâd think housekeeping or the like would tidy up gear areas. Nope. There wasnât any, well as far as we could tell. Hallway smelled like a Las Vegas lounge permeating with cigarette smoke, in a non smoking building.
My nephew had to have his room moved because the sink was backed up upon arrival and his room smelled like hard boiled eggs which tells me itâs been sitting a while. So they moved him to a different room where there was no hot water at all. He showered in my room, we were dirty from field work. * bring your own towels!*
Seems they donât wash on the weekends. He had gone to the front counter to get one or two they told him there wouldnât be towels until possibly Sunday night and to wait til then. I went down the block and purchased a few.
On a side note the counter / snack area was clean and the coffee machine put out a good cup.
