We recently stayed at Sunburn Alley and overall had a great trip despite the unusually rainy May weather. The ocean views from both upstairs and downstairs were beautiful, and the sunrise over Bolivar was incredible as always. Since it rained most of the stay, we spent a lot of time relaxing on the balcony listening to the waves. The beds were extremely comfortable, the A/C worked great, and the kitchen was very well stocked. A crockpot would be a nice addition for longer stays or fishing groups. The yard was nicely maintained with very few goat heads/stickers, which was appreciated for both dogs and bare feet. The mowed beach pathway was also a huge plus.A few things could use some attention. Some outlets didn’t work and the light switches were a little confusing. Downstairs electrical access for charging golf carts or boats would be helpful. Parking is somewhat limited on the dead-end road, and the parking area became muddy after rain.A few balcony chairs felt unstable and could use reinforcement or replacement, and there were some nails starting to pop up on the decking. We also saw a few small roaches during our stay, which can happen near the coast.Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider booking again. With a few small maintenance updates, this place could easily be an even better beach getaway.
