The first night up entry we noticed two of the doors were unlocked. The outdoor grill we had planned on using was missing and the two upstairs twin beds as well as the couch smelled of urine. We had to pay out of pocket to rent a hotel for the night. The owner refused to take responsibility or comp us. Upon returning the next day through a still unlocked side door we noticed the bedding changed, and the smell was mostly gone but one of the locks on the door was never fixed. The outdoor grill was replaced. The upstairs shower was unusable as it leaked through to the ground floor. The downstairs bathroom filled with steam due to a fan that was plugged with dust. The place looks nice and is quiet but not worth the inconveniences and cost
Port Orford is a beautiful, laid back and quiet town on the south coast. It is a wonderful destination, however, it is recommended you seek alternative vacation rental property. My family and I spent our Thanksgiving holiday here (booked in June). Prior to our arrival the owner inquired if we would be cooking Thanksgiving dinner at the house so they could make sure everything we needed was ready. I replied that we would be cooking dinner there. So far, so good. From here it went downhill. Upon arrival, we find that the kitchen sink doesn't drain, the oven only cooks at 350 degree temperature and the track lighting over the kichen sink and counter doesn't work. Hardly ideal cooking conditions. I contacted the owner via text at the number provided. We attempted troubleshooting over the phone and after using a plunger and disassembling the plumbing beneath the sink we managed to get the sink working. Other issues were unresolved. I expressed my frustration and the owner stated that we would be granted a partial refund for an "unacceptable" situation. I expressed my gratitude and though challenging managed to have a good Turkey dinner. Upon returning home, I repeatedly reached out to the owner inquiring about the refund. Messages were ignored and finally was told to quit bothering them. NO REFUND.
Otherwise, the property is fine. Nice quiet location. If you don't plan on cooking the place is OK, but if you do look elsewhere. BTW - the lighting in the entire house is funky
Had a delightful weekend, and would highly recommend to anyone. This home is going in my places to repeat!
The lighting system was a bit challenging and would've appreciated a cheat sheet. That was the only issue we had.
Cabin in excellent condition very comfortable and cozy,
The only thing that I would ask is the downstairs bathroom had a strong smell, maybe it was not deeply cleaned from previous guest other than that everything was great. We did a little detail cleaning on it and it was better. Thank you
Thank you
This was our first stay in Port Orford and we already want to return. We had a lovely stay at this sweet quiet cabin in the woods and would love to stay again some day. It was well designed, super clean, and thoughtfully decorated with all the amenities one needs while on the road. There were nice linens on the beds, a well-equipped kitchen, and even beach towels for our use. Our only complaint is we had so little time to spend there to enjoy it, as we spent each day hiking and exploring up and down the coast and came home exhausted each evening. Even so, we were grateful that we had the comfort of a nice shower and a cozy cabin to return to each evening. Port Orford is also a wonderful location to explore the south coast in either direction, and has several nearby state parks and beautiful beaches to explore.
I took my son and his four friends here for an overnight stay. This property is amazing. The boys had so much fun here, and the beach is so close! If I could leave ten stars I would.
We loved our stay this weekend. Great place to stay, plenty of room and great kitchen space for our grilling. The lighting was a bit challenging and we didnât get to use the fire pit because the grills propane was out and had to swap. Other than that it was awesome!
Jenny was responsive when I reached out and was helpful. The house was what we were looking for and was a great little hideaway in the woods, but the coast is really close if you need an ocean fix. Harry was friendly and showed us a few local secrets that we can't share unless you stay here. Will keep this in the rotation for the next road trip or share with friends traveling this way. Wish we had a longer stay so we could use the outdoor area.
Couldnât have asked for anything else
The cabin and property is very nice and maintained. Perfect to leave the wife at while your out fishing
There wasnât anything else we could have asked for to make our stay any better
Jenny was always quick to respond and it made our first time on this vrbo easy ! I recommend this for everyone to stay
Thank you
Awesome home-would have appreciated some amenities, such as spices and oil to help with our cooking. Wr were excited about the sâmores, until we noticed they were $15. Overall a great stay!
We enjoyed our time at this cute cottage in the trees. It is a short drive to town and a beautiful beach to walk and explore. We enjoy cooking and found the kitchen ware and dishes great! The only spices provided are salt and pepper. I suggest bringing a long lighter for the fire pit, paper towels, tin foil and plastic wrap. You may want to bring a grill brush or scraper with you if you plan to grill. We would definitely stay again!
Wonderful cabin with great views. It had everything we needed for our stay. You can tell that the owner takes pride in doing the little things to make your stay more enjoyable. Many memories were made with our family and we would definitely stay again on a return trip.
