Mixed experience primarily due to management company. The home would have been great had they ensured everything was in good order prior to our arrival and performed better with various issues.Pros:-Home nicely appointed-Heated pool great and worked as it shouldCons:-Arrived to find a few personal items from previous guest, bed missing covers and an inaccessible chirping smoke detector-Chirping caused main living area and 1 bedroom to be unenjoyable for 24 hrs-Thermostat restricted to only 70 degrees on cooling in November. Promised repeatedly to get this lowered to 68 but never did.-Requested portable ac so we could sleep comfortably and instead received box fans.-Master shower drain was completely clogged. Notified immediately and requested a call to schedule repair. Nobody called and repair person showed up but we weren't home so they didn't make the repair. Had to call back again to get it scheduled and it was eventually fixed. In total, I had to make 10-12 phone calls and a similar amount of text messages to management during our stay. After our trip I sent a message to the manager about our disappointment and never got a response.Separately, one should know the beach is not really accessible from Tampico Drive due to the erosion. There is a vertical 6-8 foot drop to get on the beach from Tampico. You might be able to climb it but you will more likely need to walk around the corner to Cape Palms Park for good beach access if carrying beach gear.
Everything was nice enough! We enjoyed our stay, but the pool needs a little love (I.e. tile fell off, uneven/sharp edges) and the beach was challenging with no ramp/stairs so you have to climb down a dune path and walk to an area where you can use the beach. Once there, itâs beautiful!
We had our annual family beach trip and I try to find a new house each year at the Cape. The house in general was fine. Nothing exceptional, I had to take my beach chair up for something comfortable to sit in on the deck. Only comfortable thing inside was the couch and the beds, very comfortable. Pool has no shade at all and no light at night to swim. We made our own shade with beach umbrellas our last full day. Each room had its own bathroom which was great since we had adults. Kitchen was great for a vacation trip. Two different coffee makers. Itâs a good walk to the beach just be warned we knew that and had no problem with it.
We had a great stay at Bikini Bottom. It was a fun week with family and friends. The property is as advertised. Everything you need for an awesome beach vacation.
Do not hesitate! Book this home! Each morning the major decision was whether we would start the day at our private pool or take the 2 minute walk along a sandy path to the pristine white sand beach. The photos in the listing do not do the home justice. The pool is clean and refreshing. The home is very well maintained and super comfortable. There is a paved trail steps from your front door that extends the entire coast. Less than a mile walk to delicious ice cream and local take on a low country boil. 2 miles to the entrance of a state park with amazing beaches. A short drive to many fantastic restaurants.
We just finished our stay and we could not have been happier! The check-in, check out, amenities, pool, everything was just perfect! We stay at a lot of vacation rentals, and this is one of the best that we have stayed at. The pictures are real and are updated (we have been burnt on that a few times). Great views of the ocean! Super location to get to the ocean as well as enjoy the bike/walking path. Very close to the state park and very close to the grocery /coffee/donut/ice cream spots.
We were ver pleased with the house we stayed in and it was especially nice having a pool since the beach was a little windy and the waves were so rough. Overall great stay!
