Small but adaquate rooms

We somehow got the room set up for those with hearing loss. It was right next to the laundry and my husband and sons room was also for those with hearing loss right next to the ice machine! I got the laundry room since it was quieter than the loud ice machine. The rooms are small but clean and current in decor. I liked that the wall had a temp controlled dial.

We got in late, and we left early. The staff knew we were coming, and they had waters ready for us. They were extremely welcoming and helpful.

I did like that I had 24-hour coffee. The breakfast was mediocre. And they need to be more clear and concise about those fees that are being charged when bringing a pet. The same wording on their website is provided at Home2 Suites which I stayed at which meant as it was explained by the manager to me per accommodation means the stay that I'm there does not mean I'm being charged a fee per night unlike Tru was to have me pay per night for my dog fee they're literally in the same parking lot ran by the same company. Home2 Suites it's much more upscale why would they charge one fee and then true attempt to charge me a nightly fee same wording on both websites needs to be updated and changed to her night. No pool no jacuzzi just a gym nothing sweet or extra. The mini refrigerator was definitely a mini mini barely could hold any leftovers if you brought food back to your room the microwave was old outdated and so was the air conditioning. Literally had a new system on the wall for heating and air conditioning but that did not work it was the air conditioner / heater against the wall by the window that works and it was truly outdated. The beds were comfortable. I won't stay here again.

This is the perfect hotel with no bells and whistles if you are flying out of the Portland airport. They do charge extra for parking though even if only staying one night and not doing a park and fly.

Hotel is conveniently close to the airport. Room is very plain, but has everything you need if just staying one night. Breakfast was basic but good. It was clean and we felt safe, which is what matters most to us. Parking was free for the nights staying at the hotel.

There is nothing within walking distance. However, there is a complimentary shuttle if it's available to take you to a nearby shopping area/restaurants. Didn't realize there were Tru hotels without a pool. When they registered me at the property, they had a better rate than on orbitz and tried to tell me that Orbitz would update the rate to match--they didn't. They were running out of breakfast food at 745 AM which seemed kind of weird. If you need an overnight stay by the airport it was fine.
