We had a wonderful time staying at Hotel Thaxter! The location was perfect for walking around Portsmouth, plenty of local shops and restaurants around. The staff was very helpful and provided some great recommendations. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again if we travel to Portsmouth.

The staff were wonderful: they cheerfully accommodated our wish to access our room early. Everyone was kind and helpful. The rooms were spotless, the bed extremely comfortable. The location is perfect: the Thaxter is in the heart of the old port city and you are surrounded by beautiful historic buildings, good restaurants and interesting shops.
