BEDBUGS! Although this is a beautiful property, it is infested with bedbugs! We traveled to the DR as medical students doing outreach to underserved individuals in Puerto Plata and Sosúa. Since it was my girlfriend’s birthday shortly after the outreach, we decided to stay a few extra days at this resort due to the amenities and food options. We arrived to the hotel, checked in and upgraded to platinum for a “better” room closer to the beach. We set our bags down and left the room to go to the beach, eat, and explore the property, but when we returned at night, there were bed bugs all over the bed. We went to platinum concierge ( a $330 upgrade) to get a new room and were show to 2 new rooms in 2 new buildings with bed bugs as well. The man who drove us to the new room saw bed bugs on top of the covers before we tried the next room. The staff were unkind when we returned to the platinum concierge desk to try yet another room and complained that we moved the covers to check the mattress after finding bed bugs in our first room. We decided to leave due to the infestation and were brushed off by customer service who said they would do their own investigation to see if they would give us a refund. This totally ruined our trip. We are currently fighting for a refund. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this at all cost! It’s pretty on the outside and some staff are friendly, but a bed bug infestation and terrible customer service is not worth the nightmare.

The rooms were nice but our room had no wash cloths. We also asked for bottles of water that were never sent to our room despite saying they would be. The pools were cloudy and dirty looking. The lobby smelled like pee and the check in process was long. Wait staff and food were the highlights. Overall, I wouldn’t stay again.

The worst resort I have ever been to, it says 5 stars but this is not even 2 stars. Rooms not good, full of mosquitos, pool is dirty, restaurants are not clean and full of bugs even on the couches , kids came out of pool with very itchy body, staff took money from me for a room upgrade and never gave a receipt. Went to the customer service person and he did nothing at all. The room service call button was not even working on the phone!!!

Fiquei hospedado do dia 23/05/2025 a 28/05/2025, na suíte Bungalow, e tive uma experiência perfeita! Pesquisei bastante os resorts da região e o Grand Bavaro Princess foi o melhor custo benefício de 5 estrelas encontrado. Mesmo assim, li muitos comentários negativos a respeito da hospedagem e que me deixaram em dúvidas quanto a reserva. Portanto, segue meu relato pessoal: - Limpeza: Impecável. Todas as áreas comuns e restaurantes passam por limpeza diária. Não vi nenhuma situação de sujeira relevante mas pela quantidade de funcionários, creio que seria prontamente resolvido (mas convenhamos que quem deve manter são os hóspedes). - Quarto: Grande e bem equipado. Ar condicionado gela bem e chuveiro/privada funcionaram também. Há mosquitos mas não é exagerado como relatado em outras avaliações. - Comida: Muito boa e bem preparada. O cardápio é sempre o mesmo mas há uma grande variedade. Não tive qualquer problema e acredito que quem passou mal tenha pré disposição para tal ou não tomou os cuidados necessários. - Atendimento: 90% do staff é muito prestativo e animado. Não condeno aqueles funcionários que são um pouco mais rudes pois não sabemos as condições de trabalho, mas no geral fui muito bem atendido. - Infraestrutura: Gigantesca. Não observei construções depreciadas e que condenem a experiência. Ainda pude notar equipes de manutenção em alguns dias. Enfim, hospedagem irretocável. Com certeza voltarei em minha próxima viagem a Punta Cana. Recomendo!

Good hotel but on our last day our toilet exploded and water was running everywhere. It reached the balcony. Our phone in the room wasn't working, so we had to go to the lobby and ask for help and it took them 15 minutes or more to come and fix the problem and this happened at 2AM. Had a flight at 8am.

Lipstick on a Pig! 1. The Royal club member reps are like hunters. They hunt you down to sit with unrelentingly salesmen for 90 minutes for timeshare. Very unpleasant. 2. Toilet did not work had to fill with water with trash can to flush and AC did not work humidity off the charts where bedding was damp and wet. Miserable! 3.Room filled with mosquitoes, bites everywhere! 4. Requested towels, face clothes and extra blankets multiple times. Received them at checkout. 5. Pool near beach was dirty. Scum floating in water. Gray water. 6. Ponds smell foul give an unpleasant Odor to entire resort. 7. Ceiling plaster in shower falling all over floor in shower. 8. Beach filled with seaweed and other vegetation! Positive: restaurants and staff in restaurants are wonderful!
