This cabin is in a great location! We had access to everything we wanted to see during our stay. The description was accurate, but be aware that the ceiling is sloped, as in the pictures. A really tall person might feel cramped, especially in the bathroom, but it did not cause us any problems. There is a little distant road noise from the highway in the mornings and evenings but later in the evening and at night it was very tranquil. I have to admit I am hypersensitive to sound, but I was able to sleep very well. It is located on a very beautiful property - we enjoyed it! Check-in/out and communication with the host were top notch.
Beautiful and quiet! We loved watching the free range cows wander around. We had a nice little porch for drinking coffee in the morning and to enjoy the evening. Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse were close by. There was plenty of shopping and good places to eat near us as well.
My wife and I came out to spend 4th of july weekend in the black hills. The owners are super friendly and very attentive. If i could give them more than 5 stars i absolutely would!
Silver Lining Cabin is in a great location. Kari Ann was great at communicating with us upon arrival and during our stay. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay at the cabin.
Totally my fault when reading the listing. This is a loft area and while shocked in beginning grew to love it. Only problem i ever had was washing hands after going to the bathroom, i hit my head few times at night just because i didnt duck but more my fault but the slope of ceiling can be misleading if not careful. Everything else is laid out pretty well, we wanted to try the pool but was just too chilly to test out. If i had to complain was just not getting there soon and staying an extra day.
Great place thatâs in the middle of everything. Close to the monuments, close to Keystone which I would recommend over Deadwood, and lots of hiking and things to do. Cabins are off the main roads so pretty quiet peaceful place to stay. We will stay here again if we go back! Hosts were awesome!
Very cozy space, comfortable bed. Easy to get to Custard State Park, Hill City and surrounding area. Pool was refreshing. Was hot in July. AC unit worked well it was loud but the nights cooled so you can open the windows. The Black Hills are beautiful and wonderful hikes everywhere.
It was a bit tight for me with 3 kids, but we knew ut was goong to be based on the listing. It was a nice cabin and great property. The kids enjoyed the pool and it was a great place to relax. Great location close to Mt Rushmore, Keystone, Rapod City, Hill City etc.
Great location- but description on listing lacked. We arrived and couldnât figure out where our âcabinâ was. We then determined that our cabin was connected to another cabin up two flights of stairs. The description said you could sleep 4. We had three. We had our 8 year old with us. He barely had room to fit. This room is for max 2 people and do not plan to cook as there is barely space for a cooler and it has a tiny college dorm fridge. It was a queen size bed with a pullout chair. The chair was dirty inside with hair, crumbs. The people who stayed below us had no idea it was a shared cabin either. I would not recommend staying at the silver lining cabin- the others seemed nice and spacious. I think a picture with the map should be on the listing so people understand what they are renting. The grill also started on fire because it was quite dirty. Carpet wasnât the cleanest and the shower floor is squishy. The deck also could have used an umbrella since the sun beams down on the back of the cabin late afternoon. Overall- I think they could be more descriptive and clean a bit better with a better review of this specific cabin.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was a perfect setup for my husband and I and our 10 year old grandson. The pool was great, we used the grill for supper and breakfast and the location was very tranquil.
Stayed 2 nights. Wanted to be close to the Badlands. It was a little snug. Snacks were appreciated. Was easily able to get room supplies restock. Very limited dining option. An outdoor sitting area would be nice.
We came to see the Buffalo Roundup, but to also spend a few days in the Black Hills before the roundup. This cabin was so cute. The accommodations were great. We ate breakfast out on the little deck every morning, used the grill for one evening meal. Itâs got everything you need-towels, blankets, dishes, etc to make your stay so easy. We LOVED this little room. We had a single air mattress with for one adult to sleep on, but my son slept on the pullout chair and the extra fold out cushion for a little more support. It was a great location back off the highway. We enjoyed watching the grazing free range cattle. Just a perfect place for our stay. Highly recommend!
perfect out of the way place to stay while touring keystone and other attractions.
Small but adequate stay when you are not sticking around all day. Had everything we needed. Was grateful for the toaster oven for my leftovers. I was able to use the wifi for several hours of school work. Has a small table for desk area. Excellent bed and wonderful sheets. Good water pressure in the shower. Nice little heated pool. Loved the atmosphere and the beautiful views. So many trees. We LOVE trees. Just needed to continually air out the small place to stay ahead of the musty smell.
We had a loft which was perfect for two people for a short stay. However the property is great for a family. There are fire pits, a swimming pool and a few things for kids to play on.
Great central location and easy on/off the highway. My Grandson loved the pool and we used it almost every day just to unwind. My only suggestion would be to have the stairs lit a little better. There is a motion sensor but it does not go on until you are at the top. A light under the deck would be ideal.
Really great area ... close to what we where we were going
I had always wanted to visit Mt. Rushmore and since I'm a lover of caves/caverns I wanted to see Wind and Jewel Cave in this area. Great location to all. Also took in Mammoth Site in Hot Springs area. Cabin loft was perfect size for the two of us. Very comfortable and quiet location! Will stay there again if in the area!
am 73 years old. This was a new experience for me. LOVED IT. Disn't use the pool, but saw other families enjoying it. My wife loves to take pictures. Her favorite were the up close pictures of the cows in the morning. The location was great for our trip. W
