Thanks to Craig and Jane. This bungalow was close to the best snorkel spot on the coast. We even saw turtles and an octopus. What we saved on accommodation we spent on adventures. It was nice to be able to cook at home too.

We had an amazing time staying at Aroa Kainga Bungalows and can't recommend it enough. Jane and Craig were absolutely wonderful hosts—so friendly and incredibly helpful. We arrived in Rarotonga well before check-in time, and they kindly let us settle in early. They were just as accommodating when we checked out, letting us stay a bit longer while we waited for our taxi to the airport. The bungalow itself was great, very clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. The terrace was fantastic for relaxing in the evening with a glass of wine, and the property is just a short stroll from Aroa Beach, which is easily one of the nicest beaches on the island. We truly had a fantastic stay and really hope to come back in the future!

Aroa Kainga is one of the best places we ever stayed at. The bungalow and the veranda offer plenty of space and the kitchen is perfectly equiped - you'll find everything you need if you wish to cook your own meals. Location is particularly good if you are into snorkelling as the nearby beach is the best snorkelling place in Rarotonga. As we also wanted to explore other places on the Island, we rented Jane and Craig's car for a couple of days. Absolutely great to have that option! In general Jane and Craig are some of the best hosts and kindest persons we have ever met! Their friendliness is out of this world and they are always happy to help and give recommendations for a memorable time in Rarotonga. Meitaki for the unbelievable time and all the best for the future! We really hope we can get back to Rarotonga one day to stay again at Aroa Kainga!

Great wee spot. The room had a full sized fridge, microwave and a stove top making it easy to prepare our own food. There is also all equipment needed for snorkling. Debbie & Nev were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend Aroa Kainga Bungalow!!!

Apart from the barking dogs and roosters that never sleep, the bungalows are located in a quiet and convenient spot just a few minutes walk from the beach. It’s excellent value for money with Wi-Fi and other thoughtful surprises like access to a washing machine, a library, and snorkeling gear etc. I would definitely stay again! Thank you!

We absolutely recommend this place and fully enjoyed our stay. Nev and Debbie are fantastic hosts and provide a lot for their guests. The location of the bungalows couldn't be better, as it is very close to the beach but tranquil at the same time. The bungalow itself is very spacious and offers all necessities for a relaxed time on this beautiful island. The communication with the hosts was very friendly and easy. So once again, we absolutely recommend this accommodation.

Bungalows are getting a bit tired + need a refresh but otherwise clean + comfortable. Lovely tropical plantings around the bungalows. Fabulous snorkelling within a 3 min walk - including low tide. Also good dining options, maybe need a scooter or car. A bit tricky to find, especially if you arrive at night + without google maps. All good with maps if you punch in the name/road + drive up the road (looks like a lane, but is actually a road!) until you see the sign for the bungalows. 🙂

This place was something else. Not on the water from but less than a 1 min walk down to a cute beach with great snorkelling. The unit was like a little tiny house fully equipped with everything you need to self cater. Nev greeted me and was super kind and helpful. There was fresh drinking water ever day, washing machine to use and everything was super clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and the ceiling fans worked a treat! Lots of windows for the breeze to keep things cool. The deck looked out to lush garden area and was such a nice place to hang out on the rainy days. You could be outside without getting wet or wind blown. Bus stop 4 min walk away, convenience store 15 mins sling with the shipwreck bar for sundowners and incredible sunsets. I definitely rate this place, the only problem I had was my stay here wasn’t long enough!!!

Reasonably quiet area, close to beach. Accomodation was self contained with good size rooms, kitchen had toaster, hot water jug, mircowave, fridge. Plenty of coffee and sugar as well as assorted jams and some breakfast cereal, bread, butter and a small milk as well as a large water bottle to use. No problems parking on the property. My room would have been better suited with a moveable fan on a stand. Not many restaurant options nearby, so having a car would be a good choice. Owners were freindly and helpful.

Given just how much cheaper Aroa Kainga was compared to other options, and even despite how high other reviews have been, I was ready for at least some disappointment. But, no. The accommodation exceeded my expectations - the bungalow is nothing fancy, sure, but it was very well appointed, the fridge was well stocked with breakfasts and bread, free passionfruit from the owners' garden, lovely decking area and, a huge bonus, snorkelling gear and reef shoes if you don't want to schlep your own. There are also clothes washing faciltiies that came in handy. In terms of location, it also lucks out. There is only the one local restaurant, i.e. in walking distance, but cars, bikes and buses will get you to other ones with minimal hassle. However, Kaena (the local restaurant) is solid so if you're feeling lazy, you'll still be well served. In addition the local beach is, for my money, one of the best ones, since it is less crowded with resorts a la Muri, and all that entails. Moreover, we spotted sea turtles, moray eels and eagle rays while snorkeling in the area. Finally, the hosts - Nev and Debbie - are very friendly and helpful, and the information they provide is comprehensive.
