Dated and uncomfortable

Rooms are old and our toilet was disgustingly filthy. The safe in our room didn't work and the ice machine on our floor was broken. The room was not quiet, you could hear the highway. It was like trying to sleep on a speedway. They changed our room after a couple of nights, but the beds in the new room were horrible. The new room lacked sufficient lighting, but was roomy. The place is very dated, in both towers. The resort fee is ridiculous, especially since this is not a resort, it's an old casino that shows its age. If you want your room cleaned you have to call and ask for it. They don't always answer the phone. I had to actually go to the front desk early one morning to ask for a cleaning because nobody would pick up the phone. I would not recommend the Nugget, you can find better places.

It is an old Sparks icon, but need some TLC. The carpets need replacing on the main floor. The rooms were clean. Our sheets were old and full of rough pills. Old and need to be discarded. Same with the shredded floor mat in the bath. A few simple fresh changes could make all the difference. Staff seems worn and tired like the property. Just shrugged at checkout when I mentioned the linens. This was the Resort tower. Far from resort!
