Despite the positive markings above, the overriding thing when we arrived tired and cold, was that the room was freezing. No effort had been made to warm it up and the heater was utterly inadequate. We went to bed at 7:30 just to keep warm. We had to ask for milk. The one plug (two sinks) had a nail through it! (Health and safety alert!)The bed was great. The location was quiet and peaceful. Our host directed us to an excellent lookout spot at a nearby lake.
Emma was very accommodating, even coming out in the pouring rain and making sure the heater was on in the getaway before I got there so it was warm and cozy by the time I got there. I didn't realize there is no wifi here but it was actually really nice to disconnect from everything for a night.
The stay was great - easy place to stay close to Wai-o-tapu Thermal Wonderland which is why we wanted to be there. Clean, roomy, nice bed and reasonably private. Very quite and scenic. Needs a curtain for the kitchen window and a bigger mirror in the bathroom. Also beware: no Wifi. I had two 4G bars on my phone so that was good enough but pretty limited.
We truly enjoyed our stay. The place was comfortable and clean, a short distance from all the places we planned to visit. The accommodation was provided with everything we needed, simply delightful! The hosts were gracious and helpful to allow us to bring our two dogs with us, which we greatly appreciated. We will definitely stay again. Thank you very much!
A great location away from the rat race to serve as a base for exploring the region, and a super comfy bed to come back to after a long day! Lovely hosts too, and the home grown tomatoes we were gifted on departure were delicious. Thank you!
Emma has been so responsive, I appreciate the prompt communication! The property was easy to find and super clean. I loved the milk in the fridge as I was thinking of getting some, that was a great surprise. Very comfortable bed too. Highly recommend for people traveling with their dogs!
A cute cozy open plan cabin nestled by conifers, eucalyptus, manuka, rhododendron and Walnut. This small settlement has a school and a Pataka (no dairy or shops).Walks to Lake Rerewhakaaitu is 1hr return.A lovely base to explore the Lake district. Rotorua is a 30mn drive away.We stayed for a week with our puppy and daughter.Emma was handy for any questions.Ideal if you're looking for a remote place to disconnect.
It was lovely and clean and comfy bed and lovely and accommodating host. It would've been a plus if there was a tv although not a major as you dont go away to watch tv... a sofa to sit at rather than on the bed would've been better too.
Loved this property as a base for lots of swimming in lakes, free thermal rivers, cycling and walks. The children loved the pool. Very quiet, great little village.
Lovely spacious space, comfortable bed with an electric blanket, private, beautiful views of the surrounding farmland, had everything you would need and Emma the host was so welcoming and friendly, we felt right at home especially with her delicious homemade bread, what a wonderful delight, we will be back.
Great little cottage was nicley warmed up before arrival. We always had fast replies from the host and it qas everything we needed. I stayed with my son and daughter who both thought it was perfect for what we needed.
We stayed three nights with friends as we were all competing in an event nearby. Really convenient location. Quiet spot, friendly host, appreciated the fresh bread and local produce from the fruit trees!
For colder nights, a heater will be appreciated. Nice linen, and everything else we needed was provided. Its good to get âoff the gridâ and this was an ideal quiet spot.
Stunning location with tonnes of privacy. Natural hot springs 15mins drive, 30mins from town centre - perfect spot with lots to do. Thank you to our host Emma - very approachable & easy to contact, able to provide lots of information about the area and must-see spots. Will be back again to explore more of the area đ
Emma has a really nice, clean and tidy place. And she was available for our late check in. Nothing was a problem for her and communication was great.
Ideal if you are heading north to Rotorua, need a good, simple place to stay and would rather stay somewhere in the country.
Would definitely come back again.
The cabin was really spacious and clean, bed super comfortable. Hosts were lovely and really helpful. Cabin is located on their property however is private. This was a great spot to explore the lakes, rivers and thermal spots around the district. Check out the local tavern while you are there. Recommend
We had a lovely stay at this batch in Lake Rerewhakaaitu. I believe we were the first guests to stay there, as its a newly listed property. We were 2 adults, 1 child.
The property was as per the pictures. It was clean and spacious. Emma talked about a few things that she is looking to add to the place which will make a difference.
Emma was very flexible around our check in and out time which was very much appreciated.
A really really nice touch from Emma included a loaf of freshly baked bread left at our door in the middle of our stay. It was delicious!
My 6 year old wouldn't sleep on the camp stretcher but your child may be more easy going :)
If you want a quiet getaway or have stuff on in the area, highly recommended.
