We had a fantastic stay at Big Cedar Lodge, booked through VRBO. The property manager, Christian, was excellent â very responsive and easy to communicate with from start to finish. The room was spotless and had everything we needed, including a small patio which is a great place to just sit and do nothing! The resort itself is a dream. The pools and lazy river are top notch â the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the scenery. The shuttle service made getting around a breeze, and every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a peaceful, well-maintained getaway to recharge, this is it.
Beautiful property with a lot of activities. Restaurants had great food. The room was comfortable for two people and well stocked with the basics. Appreciated having a table in the room.
Great view from our room! Big Cedar offered a wide range of activities for everyone in our family. The Christmas display was beautiful! Great communication with the host. Canât wait to stay again!
The employees of the lodge were very kind. They helped improve the experience.Sadly, all the activities were booked when we arrived and we couldnât do anything. We didnât know we needed to reserve ahead of time. The person we rented from, Edward (Christian as the communication guy , told us we would be upgraded for free to the one bedroom. We were not given the one bedroom, but a studio. We bought travel insurance for emergencies. Sadly we had an emergency, my son broke his arm the week before and needed surgery. They would not let us cancel or book a later date. Why buy insurance? I offered to show medical documentation.Any questions I had, he referred me to the registration desk.Ultimately, we left a day early because we couldnât do anything and just had a bad taste in our mouth from the service from our host.
My husband and I came for a quick birthday getaway before Christmas. We had a great time! Big Cedar is an awesome resort. Our room was spacious and everything we needed.
It is great to have a less expensive option for a trip to BIg Cedar. Highly recommend visiting during the Holidays. The lights are an over the top experience.
The only issue with the Wilderness Club is it is getting a little run down. Our bathroom had some rotten wood in the corner which needs to be fixed. We would return but would prefer a different unit.
I first stayed at wilderness club over 20 years ago and many times through the years. I was used to immaculate accommodations with amazing attention to detail. That is no longer the case. The stove was almost impossible to use due to bent burners and there was a definite shortage of cookware. The remote did not work and the drapes did not draw properly. There had been a leak in the bathroom ceiling and it was poorly repaired. The rest of the room was fine, but overall not the level i was accustomed to. A disappointment considering the money i spent.
Big cedar is our favorite place and staying at Wilderness club is part of that. Perfect location, clean and cozy stay. Thank you. Cant wait until next fall.
We had the best time here! Our room was convenient, clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed, and communication with the owner was fantastic! Will definitely be booking again!
Our condo was on ground floor, I was expecting a balcony or a higher view, our view was trees and grass. Was pleasant and clean. Microwave clock stares you in the face at night, lol, as the kitchen is at foot of bed. All in all was nice but would have preferred higher floor for the view
Everything was great except the entire area was overrun with skunks. They came out in groves at dusk. Wasn't able to walk anywhere after dark. Good thing they shuttle bus's we're running !!
This was our 1st trip there using VRBO. For the filter reservations - at the time of making the reservation can I request a specific building # and a specific floor to stay on ?
