This was second time we've stayed in a Victorian style VRBO. First was in Galena, Illinois in a house where U.S. General Grant lived before the Civil War. The Victorian homes offer more than just a place to sleep. This one very well set up for guests. Kudos to the hosts for preserving the house and sharing with others.
We spent the weekend to attend a family wedding in the area. Everything was clean and organized as advertised. Itâs quiet but a very short walk from the cute town and restaurants. I would definitely stay there again.
Great stay at this Victorian home. Restaurants and local stores were within easy walking distance in this comfortable neighborhood. All our needs were met, and we loved the interesting style of the home. Fun time at Hard Rock Casino too.
We checked in the day after Christmas and the entire house was beautifully highlighted with charming Christmas decor. Delightful furnishing throughout the house make it very comfortable. Nice details added to make our stay convenient such as an alarm clock that charges the phone and a make up table in the master bedroom as well as a spacious closet. We were very pleased with our stay. The house was clean, and that is probably the most important thing to me. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We look forward to our return visit.
Charming Victorian Home in Historic Downtown Cherry Valley
We spent New Year's in Cherry Valley and very much enjoyed our stay. The home is beautiful and stocked with everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a home in Rockford or a quiet town in northern Illinois.
We had an exceptional stay. The house was tastefully decorated for the holidays. The kitchen was well equipped and our hostess Carolyn was in contact throughout the stay. This Vrbo is a gem!
Great location for a family reunion held in Rockford, with walking distance to restaurants & park in Cherry Valley. Lovely and comfortable furnishings. Well provided kitchen Donât know if it was an oversight by hosts, but bring your own shampoo as there was none provided Still worth the stay!!
Stayed here for a work trip that took us to dairy farms in all directions from Rockford. The house is terrific and is super convenient to the interstates making getting in/out a breeze. This is a quiet neighborhood--with brick street--that feels very safe. Carolyn was very responsive and accommodating--making the check-in/out process painless and ensuring we had a great stay. Will definitely stay here again if work brings me back to the area.
We had a short trip to leave my grandson at Rockford University. There was a lot of rushing around, back and forth, getting things arranged, but this house provided a lovely respite for us each evening to relax and get good sleep. The owners are very responsive, the kitchen is well-stocked, and everything is well-labeled. Even as modern amenities abound, the house is a beautiful specimen of Victorian architecture.
We have visited Cherry Valley many times over the years to visit family and now that our family has grown we needed our own space. This home was perfect! Right on the brick road, you are in the heart of charming Cherry Valley in walking distance to many local businesses and a quick drive into the greater Rockford area. The home was immaculate and beautifully curated but still family friendly with toys provided and outlet plugs! So thoughtful.
The owners have taken such great care to make your stay easy, everything is extremely well labeled with information and instructions throughout the house.
It is a historic home, so the stairs were a bit narrow and steep just something to keep in mind for those who might have mobility issues or smaller children.
Thank you for a spectacular stay!
My family and another family were in town for a lacrosse tournament at MercyHealth SportsCore #2 (an easy 10-15 minute drive). This VRBO was delightful. Super clean 3 bedroom with 2 full bathrooms, big washer and dryer, big backyard, and a spacious kitchen that was well labeled and easy to navigate. Great communications from our host. We had no issues at all, but I feel like if we had contacted the host about a problem, it would have been resolved quickly. We loved the one block walk on brick roads to the heart of Cherry Valley and the local restaurants. We would stay here again if we ever come back to the area.
