Wonderful place to saty.

Sophie and Nicholas are wonderful hosts. Probably the best I have ever seen. The place is sparkling clean. Excellent breakfast. The most comfortable bed I had in any hotel in Italy. They have a lovely backyard if you want to relax in peace and quiet. Tons of great restaurants only about a 10 minute walk away. I was very pleased with everything about Kalaso Guest House. I would absolutely recommend or stay here again.

Loved the apartment. the self-check in, and the area was nice— a beach town vibe. The only problem was paying for the taxi and Uber from and to the airport the next morning— 30 & 35 euros, which was almost as much as the apartment cost—

The hotel was pretty much a self service hotel. You have to check in online and they will send you a code to get into the property and to get your room key. The staff is only on site from 7:00 a to 1:00 pm. Room was clean and there is a common area with coffee and pastries.

What a delightful place! Sophia is a generous host and has created a beautiful place to rest and rejuvenate. Keyless entry makes it easy to arrive at any time. The room has nice decorations, was very clean, everything I needed was there. In the morning, a beautiful breakfast spread. I highly recommend staying here as a part of your travels! It’s easy to get to from the airport (although be warned it’s a 35€ flat rate taxi fee from FCO). I would recommend taking a taxi there if you’re exhausted but walking to the bus and taking it when you’re headed out. Very easy 10 minute walk, much cheaper. Easy to catch the bus back to FCO and catch a train into Roma on the Leonardo express. One note: if you stay in a single room and you are someone with a larger body, it is hard to fit into the shower which is very small. I’m a size US 18/20 and it was pretty tough to take a shower. I kept bumping the doors with my elbows and they would open up. Still had a lovely shower! But just something to keep in mind if you are larger bodied. I can’t say enough about how wonderful my one night stay was. It made me want to stay for a whole week! Thank you Sophia for being such a kind and generous host. Grazie Mille!

This was the perfect stop after a late arrival to Rome Fiumicino Airport. A 10 minute drive (if that) with a comfy bed, warm shower and excellent pastries at breakfast. Communication with the owner was effective and quick responses and very helpful in getting us the directions we needed to get into Rome the next day.

Great clean place for an overnight stay.

Great location near airport for a quick overnight stay. Coffee and croissants for breakfast were much appreciated. Not the hotels fault but beware that a taxi from airport costs 35 Euros to go just 7 mins. The taxi back to airport was another 20 euros. There is a bus stop nearby though so depending on the time, it may be convenient.

A Rome Airport Gem!

The Kalaso Design is a true find close to the Rome airport. We stayed here when we arrived in Rome and again as we were leaving. Sophia is an attentive, engaging host who treats her guests with care and respect. She is responsive if a question arises and gives recommendations in local restaurants. Keep The Kalaso Design Guest House in mind if you are traveling through the Rome airport.

Easy access to FCO airport. 5 minute walk to bus stop, and 2 Euro, 10 minute ride from there. Staff responded to all WhatsApp queries within 5 minutes. Perfect stay for early morning flight.

While looking for a place to stay for the night before our flight back home, we thankfully stumbled upon Kalaso House and we are grateful that we did! From the moment you arrive at the gate, and see the aesthetic design of the signage itself, you know you're going to be in for a treat. The garden you walk into is beautiful, neat, and so welcoming. We walked into a home that smelled beautifully, and that set the tone for a lovely stay. Our room was modern and aesthetically designed with enough storage solutions for us to hang up a few coats and shirts. The bed was comfortable, and the linens were great. We appreciated the clean and modern offerings in the kitchen, and in our room. And the room is so well insulated with sound barriers, that you barely notice any happenings outside your own room. We felt safe, comfortable, and in fact, were SO comfortable that we slept for 12 hours! Getting an uber to get to and from the airport was very easy, took 4 minutes, and cost 18 Euros for myself and my husband. It was a pleasure meeting the owner who was easy to communicate with, and gave us clear instructions on how to do self check-in. If our path with Rome crosses again, we will definitely choose Kalaso as a safe, beautiful, and comfortable place to rest.

We stayed for just a day between flights. Very nice place and a quick bus ride from the airport. Clean and quiet. Bed was comfy. I just wish breakfast was more than just a danish. We love the prosciutto and cheese selections offered by the many other places we stayed in Italy
