Charming old building about a 15 minute walk to the Vatican and Castel of St. Angelo. Room was nice size for Europe accommodations, with a nice bathroom and very comfortable bed. The room had a staircase leading to an upstairs area with extra space for a desk and a big walk in closet, but this was fairly useless for guests only staying a few days (didn't want to lug everything up the stairs and then down again). The property made no communication ahead of our arrival (as most others did) and there seemed to be only one person to greet us when we arrived. She was very nice and accommodating, but within an hour she was gone for the entire weekend, so it felt a bit like guests are just left on their own. We were okay with that, but some people may not feel comfortable with such a skeleton staff. The list of recommended restaurants that the property provided was spotty. One (Ristorante Enzo) was really pretty bad and should not be on the list. Another, located just downstairs and two doors to the right, was excellent and super charming.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Luisa for help with taxis and suggestions for restaurants. The location was great, within walking distance of most of the major attractions. The room itself was well appointed if not a bit on the small side. The shower however was large and great. The only thing is there wasn't room for a small desk to work off. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Rome.

The kitchen was fine and had what it needed. My issue with my room was there was an additional door in the bathroom that led out to a hall way. This hallway contained a water heater. And, the door didn’t lock. As a woman traveling alone, it didn’t feel safe to have a door in the bathroom or room that didn’t lock and led out into another area of the hotel. I brought it up to the staff and they were dismissive. Something else that bothered me, was after a room cleaning, I returned to find my curling iron and straighter in the bidet. Which is disgusting. I think for the money spent, you can definitely find somewhere better to stay.

This location was perfect, safe, walking distance to The Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon, The Spanish steps, many restaurants, pretty much everything. We walked all night until midnight. Our room was clean, quiet, the bed was comfortable, and most important, our hotel host Luisa was a sweetheart and very helpful. She arranged our pick up and drop off from the airport and even helped us book our Colosseum tour with pick up from the hotel. I loved this place and would definitely stay here again.

An amazing place to stay in Rome for location. Minutes from the Vatican. We took the bus from the airport and it was a 10 minute walk. I gave a rating of 4 as next time we know to book a room facing the road so that we can have light and open the window. Looking forward to coming back!

Excellent Service and Location, Minor Room Wear

Great location—close enough to walk to everything we wanted to see, but far enough away from the main tourist crowds to feel relaxed. The manager was extremely nice and helpful; we’d give six stars for the service alone. The only real observation is that parts of the room showed some wear and could use maintenance. For example, the wood (or particle board) around the kitchen faucet was worn and loose, so it was flapping around a bit and the fridge either didn’t close all the way or took a bit to cool items down. Overall, though, the service and convenient yet peaceful location more than made up for these small issues.
