We stayed at The Independent for our first two nights in Rome and absolutely loved it. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The location couldn’t be better—just a five-minute walk to Termini Station—and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, and the service was truly top-notch. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The only downside was that the gym was under construction during our visit. On the bright side, it encouraged me to go for a run outside (tip: go early, as it gets hot quickly!). We loved our stay so much that we ended up booking The Independent again for the last night of our trip before flying home. Highly recommend!

This is in no way a 4 star property as represented. A major disappointment all around-from location, to no amenities, to rude staff (and seriously understaffed), to lackluster AC. It’s a definite skip. Also refused to cancel my 5th night when I had to return home for a family emergency.

Front desk was very helpful and even though they were quite busy with the group, found a room for me to check in a half an hour early. Staff in the upstairs restaurant/ terrace were very friendly and helpful. View from the rooftop was fantastic. Great location.

Our 2nd stay at Independant Hotel and I’d did not disappoint. So many of the staff from our last stay were still there and they recognised us and made us feel special. Considering our last stay was 6 years ago was very impressive. Great location and amenities.

A little underwhelming

The images posted make the place out to be much more luxurious than it was. While extremely close to the train station, which was a huge bonus for us, we were a bit underwhelmed with the property. And we were extremely disappointed with the chicken Caesar salad: the chicken was a breaded cutlet of pressed “chicken”. Certainly not something we have ever had at any restaurant…especially for the price.

Perfect Stay – Highly Recommended I spent hours searching for the right hotel, and this one was absolutely perfect. The staff were amazing, everything was spotless, and the breakfast came with great views. The bed was super comfortable, the shower was lovely, and it’s just minutes from the main train station — ideal for getting around. There’s also a fantastic pizza restaurant just around the corner and even a halal burger place nearby if you’re craving that. Couldn’t have asked for more.
