The front reception staff was way too serious and I felt like they were just in a bad mood. She was borderline curt. The room was not cleaned properly. There was an empty plastic bottle under a bed. Breakfast at 9am was not attended to as some items were depleted (potatoes or bacon) The door to our room looked like somebody had been trying to break in by the lock. It just did not feel like the experience i have had at other Holiday Inn Express. I am seriously considering adding this chain to my list to avoid.

Room 105...bathroom door hinge so loose and could not close without lifting at the handle. Bed comfortable and breakfast good. Staff very friendly and hotel room overlooked the river. Just needs more maintenance and some updating in the bathroom.

Pros: Riverfront room-nice view. Eco-friendly dispenser of bathroom products (no small one-use plastic bottles) Cons: Outdoor (and tired) corridors to rooms. Breakfast bar was disappointing. Thirty minutes before official closing time, no eggs left.
