We enjoyed our stay at the the Bide-a-Wee. The decor is very mid-century modern, which we appreciated. The beds were comfy and clean, and the mudroom with space to hang up and dry all of our ski stuff was a rare treat in VRBO rentals. We had plenty of clean towels, shampoo, conditioner etc, and the kitchen had all the basics we needed. We loved watching the sunrises and sunsets and the kids enjoyed climbing on the rocks out back. Wintergreen was a short drive away, which made dropping off and picking up skiers a breeze. The one down side was communication with the host. I couldn't find any information beyond the basics of door code, check in and out times. The house could use a guest book with details about trails, how to use the fireplace, trash drop, local restaurants etc. I kept having to message the host for details. I had trouble with the electronic door code, which stopped working one night. Response from Airkey was delayed but we found a way in and weren't out in the cold for too long. After we got back, the homeowner followed up looking for a charging block for the speaker, which seems a little nitpicky. One of our teens borrowed the block to charge his phone and forgot to leave it so now I have to mail it back. Kinda a pain for what could be replaced on Amazon for a few dollars but okay. Overall a nice house but could use better communication.
