6/10 Satisfaisant

I stayed at the Carlton Park Hotel on a Saturday night with my wife and her brother. We booked a family room which had a double bed and a single bed, and for the price, it wasnât too bad. The hotel is a bit outdated, but for a quick and affordable stay, it did the job.
When we first walked into the room, there was a bit of an odd smell, but it wasnât anything unbearable, and we got used to it. The room was also really hot when we arrived, with the radiators cranked up to the max. Iâve seen some past reviews mention cold rooms, so maybe they were trying to compensate for that. Once we turned down the heat and opened the window, the temperature was more comfortable.
The bathroom was clean, and the shower worked just fine. It wasnât anything luxurious, but it got the job done. The bed itself was okayâcomfortable enough for the nightâbut the pillows were a bit flat, and there was only one per person, which wasnât ideal.
The view from our window was a little disappointing, though. Looking out across the garden, we could see a window that was falling apart and some wood stacked nearby, which didnât really add to the aesthetic of the place.
That being said, for the price we paid, it wasnât a disaster. The TV worked fine, and it was a decent, no-frills place to crash for the night. If youâre just looking for an affordable layover or somewhere to sleep for the night, this place works. I've stayed at much more expensive hotels that offered the same level of comfort, so I was pleasa
