The house lived up to expectations. Great location, great views. All bedrooms with en suite and all very large. Masses of space downstairs with great family areas.Books everywhere, games for adults and children. Very pleased with the stay.Only small (very small) issue is that wifi is a bit underpowered Loved our break and will come again
We all so enjoyed our time here. A special place to celebrate a 70th birthday!. Everything one could wish for in a beautifully appointed, character property, with a wide prospect, in an ancient village The family all felt happy and relaxed; quite a feat given the age ranges from a new ubaby to over 70!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Location is rig by in beer of Rye so shops and restaurants just a short walk away.Be aware that the windows are old and there was lots of dead flies on the sills.
Located right in the centre of Rye and much bigger than we had expected. Well furnished. Downsides were lack of parking - but that is true of the whole town - and rather petty non supply of washing up liquid and only three dishwasher tablets! At least try to help us leave you with clean crockery!
In a grand old house overlooking the flatlands to the sea, with a view of miles. First impressions: huge. Second: whoâs having which room (they all were en-suite so it didnât really matter). Third - I want a bookcase like that one! We loved the first floor reading book as much as the sun room sofa.
This was an easy stay in central Rye. A bit of a faff with two cars to park and repark - but parking is so inexpensive, we could park for 24 hours for less than it costs for an hour at home. The weather wasnât the best, so we worked round that with our trips to local beaches and the steam train to Hythe for fun. Loved our cinema trip and our favourite meal out was to Rye Sushi.
The house was perfectly located right in the heart of Rye. Opposite one of the best pub/restaurants and minutes walk from all the lovely shops and restaurants of Rye. The kitchen was well kitted out with everything needed to prepare and cook a good meal. And the back patio has lovely views over the fields. There had been a leak just before our stay from the house next door which damaged some of the carpets and walls which the owner kindly prewarned us of, but didnât cause any functional issues for us. Some of the rooms could do with a spruce up - a couple of the bathrooms are lovely and modern, but some are still a fairly basic shower set up over a bath. The curtains in some of the rooms could also do with darker curtains (currently just thin white curtains) or blinds, especially in the summer. Parking in Rye town is tricky, but it was only a 4 minute walk to a very reasonably priced car park. All in all a lovely house in a perfect location with a good set up at a great price.
Plenty of space and far-reaching views over the marsh, very comfortable rooms and a great (top floor) shower, though other bathrooms were older. Kitchen is spacious and has everything you need. We had difficulties with tricky front door keys/locks on more than one occasion, and the downstairs bathroom door became completely stuck, but response from Quest Cottages was very quick, friendly and efficient. A fabulous stay, right in the heart of Rye - thank you!
