It might be better during the week but there is live music on Friday and Saturday nights. A sign mentioned that they would normally stop by 11pm but they were still playing and singing until 0:35am. Our room was just on top of the 'entertainment' area and the bass and singers were very loud and you could hear the door banging shut whenever someone left the pub. Beds and mattresses were very uncomfortable and smelly, the towels were not very clean. The window was single glazing so you could unfortunately hear all the guests chatting/shouting in front of the pub. Bathroom had seen better days, no soap was provided and there was no ventilation. The fan was so clogged up it no longer worked. It might be ok for guests who can no longer drive home after a night out, but if you are hoping for a good night's sleep better stay elsewhere.
Towels didnât smell great. No soap. Very hot in the rooms. Quite basic. Fine but wasnât amazing value. Moretti was great on tap. Pool table was good. Staff were good. Friendly
Room was clean but tired, but good location. Little things like a shelf in the bathroom required plug in sink needed mending.
How to switch on bedside lamp was not clear.
Ventilstion in room was poor.
No breakfast but had a good one at the railway station.
We have stayed here before, our third time now. Here in Saltash to visit my brothers and this weekend, Saltash Regatta!
As the Brunel is located in the high street, it has all the facilities built in around it.
In the bar young people were vaping filling the room with vape emissions/fragrance, not sure that is allowed?
I appreciate the saying you get what you pay for ÂŁ61.00 per night, alas we found there was no bath/shower towels, (that was resolved).
The noise was caused by other residents who were inconsiderate (not the owner)
After reading other comments I think itâs changed hands a few months ago so Iâm making an allowance.
In saying that the constant reviews recently were all saying about the poor beds. This is probably the one thing that hasto change. The delux room (not sure what constitutes it being delux) beds were very much sub standard. The double sunk in and the single when placing my hand on the mattress to test the firmness, has all the springs pushing through which once laying on was extremely uncomfortable.
Change the mattresses and invest in new towels and it will make so much difference on the reviews.
The price for the night was cheap so if your looking for cost only, itâll do you fine.
Sorry to say that,The property not for suggesting to someone.its very poor experience in our life. Smoking smells and very bad furnitures. Couldn't sleep well because of damaged bed. Any way i won't be there with my family again there.
Not good. The dog muck in the car park should have been a warning. Staff were lovely really helpful but the place is tired, bedâs uncomfortable Iâd say the bed needs replacing. Mattress broken. Dirty towels in room. Hairs in sink. Needs a complete re fit to be on par with other places i stay in using Hotels.com. This is below the standards I expect. Was cheap but id happily pay more for better. No ales. Only lager.
Room very basic couldn't open window
Noise from bathroom all night didn't sleep tried emergency contact number no answer,
Very disappointed
Food was good noise ect let the stay down
My first room double had a broken bed. When I tried to leave on Christmas morning I could not open the door I tried ringing but no-one answered. I had to ring my son who lives Saltash he came to the Brunel and was able to raise the alarm with the hotel. They gave me the room next door which was ok. What have I been charged for this 4 night stay.
