Salvo is a hidden GEM, it is located in the Southern end of the “Tri-Villages” of Rodanthe, Waves and Salvo. It feels like it is in a world of its own! The perfect place for beach days, family times and relaxing with not many distractions!

Come enjoy this super-cute, open concept home and all it has to offer; let it welcome you back year after year, as this adorable home is sure to be your favorite! Your dog is also welcome here! Your dog will enjoy the little fenced in area on the side yard, and you will have peace of mind letting your pup sit on the front and upper deck without being able to get out on the street with the gate to keep them in your view! Deck is new in November 2019. My home is located in the Hatteras Colony neighborhood, which is considered by many as the best on the Island due to the wide streets and two-mile loop of side streets perfect for bike riding, walking or pushing a stroller. The kitchen is complete with all you will need and will inspire your inner chef. Fridge has an ice maker in the freezer, Keurig and drip coffee maker. Lots of natural sunlight flow throughout the open living / dining rooms with a vaulted ceiling making it easy to gather together for those special family times. The first floor has two bedrooms (Queen and 2 twins), and bathroom. The upper level has two queen bedrooms, a bathroom, the stackable laundry is conveniently located on this level, and a loft area with a sofa, tv and games, sure to keep the kids occupied. The large upper deck is accessible from the queen bedroom or the loft area. You can relax on this deck and hear the surf. There is a screened in porch next to the kitchen to enjoy your meals on the picnic table, and relax at the end of your day, or enjoy your morning coffee here. A private area underneath the house is a great gathering place with an oversized picnic table, outdoor shower and fish cleaning station with lights and water. You'll find a charcoal grill in the side yard. House has 4 TV's, DVD player, wifi. Linens can be rented through several local companies that drop them off at the house if you don’t want to bring your own sheets. The keyless entry makes it so easy to check in and out of the house. This is a nonsmoking home, with a Saturday-to-Saturday rental. It's a one-minute short stroll down our street to our beach access, then about a 5-minute walk over the dune to the most beautiful beach in the world! Come experience this peaceful haven and fall in love with this "hidden gem" the little village of Salvo.

The home was clean and fully stocked with everything you needed. Lorri was in contact with us and emailed information about what we would need to bring, local linen suppliers and rental places. My 3, 11, and 17 year old had a blast with the boogie boards. The porch swing was my favorite along with the outdoor shower! The homeowner is fantastic and we can wait to come back!

Perfett home for us! Roomy, SO pet-friendly, and all the little things in the kitchen and BBQ. Neighborhood is quiet, felt private and the beach access is lovely-beach itself was never crowded. All in all would stay again here in a heartbeat. 10/10

Wonderful Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay! Perfect sized home, plenty of amenities, everything you need. Screened porch is great. Outdoor shower is wonderful coming off the beach. My daughter really enjoyed the porch swing. Plenty of nearby restaurants, markets and shopping. Sadly, the closest ORV ramp (#23) is closed Apr-Oct (seasonal). In the summer, the nearest ORV ramp (#25) is a few more miles southbound. Highly recommend for small family or group!

First beach rental

Wonderful home. Very clean and tidy. Longer walk to beach than expected, though. Brother has difficulty walking long ways and the sand on the access path made it impossible for him to go to the beach with the family. Not hostess’s fault as I didn’t let her know of his disability but for some reason I thought it was way closer than it was. Very quiet area. Peaceful place.

Welcome Back vacation

We stayed at Welcome Back from July 29-Aug 5, 2023. We had 6 Adults and 3 dogs ( which we pre-approved) the house is clean, kitchen stocked with all the thinks you need. We had plenty of room. We had a very nice time. Can’t wait to come back next year!

First Family Trip

This was the first time we were all able to go on a trip together and this was the perfect place for it. We brought our three dogs, who LOVED the deck and we really appreciated the enclosed area for them to have their bathroom breaks. The whole house very thoughtfully laid out, and just perfect for the whole family! We can’t wait to return in the future!

We absolutely loved Welcome Back! The house was perfect for our family and our dog's first trip to the beach. The home was so pleasant and had everything we needed - lots of well thought out touches to make our stay comfortable and easy. It was a short walk to the beach, which was probably our favorite in the Outer Banks. Not crowded at all and the backdrop of the dunes vs. homes made it that much more beautiful. The deck on the house was a perfect place to sit and read and stayed cool with a nice breeze even during the heat of the day. I can't say enough good things about the owner. Her emails with information about Salvo, as well as details of the house were extremely helpful and we referenced them throughout our stay. And an unexpected surprise treat was so wonderful and sweet. I can't wait until we can return!

Relaxing Time and Great location

Plenty of space for our family and everything one would need to cook/eat/sleep. Great location and a short walk to be beach. Plenty to do locally and a short drive to do some of the more popular attractions. The only thing we found issue with was the outside dog pen/grass area listed does not hold smaller dogs (one of the main reasons we reserved the home). Our pups are mini schnauzers and got right out through the gaps between posts and fencing and we had to go find them, which we did. Other then that it was great and we would gladly go again minus our dogs 🙂

Great place to stay...great access to beach down the street

The house was wonderful. We enjoyed the screened in porch and all the games they had to play. We played dominos alot. Lorri was great with the communications on the place and everything in the area. Would rent again!!

Great Beach House

The house was perfect for our family vacation. It was clean, well stocked, and Lorri was always prompt to respond with any questions we had. The porch and decks were amazing! We sat outside almost every day. The only minor detail that would have been a nice addition is to have a TV in each bedroom. The location was great too, being about a half hour or so from either the Nags Head or Avon areas in case we wanted to venture north or south.

A house that felt like home!

Welcome Back gave me the warm fuzzies. The house was beautifully decorated, immaculate and the hostess, Lorri was a gem. Her “special Monday morning surprise” went above and beyond. She kept me informed from the time I booked it to my arrival and even let us check in 3 HOURS early when the house was clean and ready for us. I’ve been to other homes where there wasn’t even toilet paper on the ready. Her home not only had that but also the basic condiments to start. I in turn left basics for the next guest. :) I believe in paying it forward. Thank you Lorri for the use of your home. So grateful. The Wyatt’s 6/4-11

OBX Beach Retreat

Absolutely beautiful, spotless, comfortable home! We had an amazing week just a short walk to beach. Everything you could need for fun vacation fully stocked kitchen, grill, games, deck with awesome views. Our host Lori was incredible! She is responsive to questions, provided lots of info on the area since it was our first time to OBX and even greeted us when we arrived. We were even lucky enough to get in a few hours early which was so appreciated!!! Would definitely return .

This was our second time staying here and we are already planning next year's trip! The house is cute and cozy, spacious and you can't beat the deck and screened in porch! Fabulous Beach Oasis with Great Indoor/Outdoor Space

Our family had a great time at Welcome Back. Lorri is a wonderful host, who provides a ton of very helpful information to guide you on making the most of your stay. The house is spacious, clean and has all the amenities you could ever need. We loved the screened-in porch and upper deck, and felt spoiled by the short walk to such an amazingly beautiful beach. Finding a property that is so clean and well maintained while also being pet-friendly is a rare gem, and this one fits the bill. We did indeed feel very welcome - even down to our family dog - and we are all already looking forward to going back!

A bit of perfect in Salvo!

Staying at Lorri’s place was exactly what our family needed to take a break from the everyday work and reconnect with each other. This was our first time bringing our dog with us on our vacation and Lorri’s place seemed to have been created perfectly just for us. Being able to let Abraham see the beach for the first time was such a treat for our family. Having him with us made it feel more like our entire family was there with us. Not only was he able to see the beach with us, but Lorri has an area downstairs that is fenced in so he can do his business comfortably. She even had a gate on the deck so he could enjoy spending time with us up on both levels. Her idea with fencing off the top area to make it safe for dogs and children alike is perfect if you have either of these with you on your trip to the OBX. Another thing we loved about staying here is that it is very centrally located on the OBX. You can go either to Duck and Corolla or to Ocracoke without it feeling like it takes an eternity to get there. Last but not least, when we first arrived we had an issue with the light in the bathroom. Within minutes of me letting Lorri know about it she was there fixing it for us. Not only was she incredibly prompt with any issues, but she even gave us a delicious treat while we were there for us to enjoy. This was not at all expected, but really meant a lot to us. Thank you Lori for making our stay in Salvo so very special. We will definitely be back!

Great house!

Beautiful property with all the comforts of home! Spent a relaxing week in OBX with family and friends. The house was comfortable and clean with enough space for all 6 of us. We loved the proximity to the beach, the outdoor shower and the fully stocked kitchen. Lorri was helpful with any questions prior to our arrival and provided great information about the area. Loved the property, just wish we had more sun while we were there!

There are so many smart details throughout this house that add to the fabulousness of it all. We enjoyed the decks as well as the dog yard and everything in between. The owners are so easy to work with and provided a lot of helpful information about the surrounding areas. There were no surprises - everything was exactly the way it was presented! Great beach cottage

Had a fun time at Welcome Back with our family! Great bonus that dogs are allowed and the boardwalk to the beach. Owner was very communicative when needed. Thanks for a nice stay!
