Room faced the I-5 freeway and was very noisy. Carpet was dirty and furnishings stained. Did not feel comfortable staying. Checked in, and checked out within 5 minutes. Found something else cleaner and not with a loud freeway right outside the window.

We enjoyed our stay so much we extended our two days to three. We probably would have stayed longer if we didn’t have to get back to Texas. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The facility was so close to everything we wanted. Walking distance to the beach. I loved walking through the town. All of the properties are well kept and beautiful. Great restaurants and ice cream shops along the way. A great coffee shop within view from our balcony. We had a BALCONY! It was so wonderful to stay at the Volare. We will definitely be back.

For the price I guess it applies the “you get what you pay for”. Lobby looks really nice and the location is perfect if you want to be in San Clemente, but, the walls are like paper, you hear every step of the people on the room above you and while the hotel has no control over noisy guests, to be awaken at 2 am by people screaming on the halls and walking as if they had blocks on their feet wasn’t pleasant. Mattresses are on the hard side. The AC was a challenge, it has a big display “do not set to lower than 68”, but that thing won’t turn on all night if set to 68 and in those rooms with no ventilation, it was a nightmare. Overall 3 sleepless nights, it was good to be home.

I have stayed at this hotel before. However, they have changed their door key system since I30 was there last. I lhad to have the room keys re-set 3x in less than 24 hrs. The keys did not hold their magnetism, even when left overnight on the dresser!! really inconvenient!!!

In all fairness, the property states that it is next to the freeway and so I should have chosen my room better. However, I booked a king room adjacent to the freeway. I could literally feel the velocity of the cars driving by the headboard of my bed and the constant whirring all night and honking from cars was scary. I had to ask to that face the street. The young man at the front desk was nice enough to give me a smaller room on the other side of the ocean at that point I was very happy so in order to have a good stay here. Make sure you ask for a room on the opposite side of the freeway if you can do that it’s very enjoyable. The location is good. It’s a lot to restaurants and about assisting to 20 minute walk to the beach. I would not recommend walking from here if you have small children or elderly people with you however, if you are able-bodied, the walk is not bad. You can walk along the shots and restaurant on the way there it is convenient because there are so many restaurants around and state
