Updated hotel with great views!

The Bay Club Hotel & Marina is our new favorite place to stay when we go to San Diego to visit our daughter and her family. We always book a Marina view room with King bed. The rooms are very large and very clean. The bathroom is a little dated but it has a large area with sink, microwave and fridge and is very clean. The owners have been updated the hotel so the common areas are very nice. The restaurant has very good food. The pool area is off of the restaurant and has been updated. There is also a hot tub. The staff are friendly and professional. A special perk is that Humphrey's is located next door and they have music in the evenings. We didn't even have to get in our car. All in all, we really enjoy the Bay Club & Marina. This is where we will be staying the next time we book a trip to San Diego.

A gem!

This is a gem! It was clean, quiet & comfortable; staff was accomodating and breakfast was delicious. We arrived late at night for a cruise the following day so did not get to try the pool but we sure enjoyed the view of the marina.

Hotel/room seemed to be updated. Location was so nice. Only thing I would say I didn’t like was the fact that you can hear the guests above you. Some nights I would hear footsteps really late while trying to sleep. Also not sure what would go on early in the mornings, I could hear loud banging of some sort. And if room is facing the front, just know you can hear everything going on. Staff was friendly, pool was appealing.

I got 2 suites for the family. The views from both were spectacular! We didn't want to leave! The food in the restaurant downstairs was reasonably priced and delicious. I would definitely stay again. It's an older hotel, but it gave it character. Loved it!

We were thrilled with this hotel! The rooms were much nicer than expected. Staff VERY friendly. Lobby freshly painted. View of marina really neat and different. Shower pressure good. Only a few people in hot tub on a Wednesday night. Location on Shelter Island great place to stroll along the water.

So I normally don’t leave reviews , but I’ve stayed at this property many times and. Normally I arrive at the property an hour to an hour and a 1/2 before check in and every time I was able to check in early but not this time . I arrive at 2:30 and I was told my room wasn’t ready but if I pay $50 I can check in 2 hours early and if I pay $25 i can check in 1 hour early . Obviously there was a room ready at 2:30 but it’s all about making money now and not good customer service . I think management are trying to make up for the so called renovations they made . I was pretty disappointed. What do you expect from a 3 star hotel . More like a motel .
