The room was clean and service was great. There was just a lot of noise from the staff coming from the hallway each day throughout the day. Additionally, on several occasions I found the exterior door to our building open by about a quart inch-enough for it to be opened and entered by anyone from the outside. These doors are supposed to be secured and accessible only with a key card.

This was my first time staying at the Handlery Hotel and it definitely won't be my last. By far, my best stay in San Diego, and Ive stayed in San Diego many times.. The hotel itself is super central to all the San Diego attractions, 8 minute drive to the beach, right off the freeway, but tucked away safe and private from the main street.The staff was super nice and helpful, gated and ample parking and entrances to front desk, pool, etc., my room was beautiful, with a big balcony facing the pool, but with some privacy, comfy bed, and super clean! I also loved the different options of places to eat within a few feet from my room! The Reef Lounge was my favorite. Great food & drink and vibes! Looking forward to my stay next year!

The hotel is very generic. Did not like the lack of security. Main door was always open and anyone could get in the hallways. Very disappointed with the woman that checked me in. She was robotic. Not interested in any questions I had. Did not explain anything about the hotel. ie =restaurants, ice, pool. Etc. could not provide an itemized receipt saying it was a 3rd party reservation. I felt she was rude and not a good way to start my visit to your hotel. I hope you take these remarks seriously, if you don’t want the true then why ask. And, waste my time. By very generic I mean, no frills whatsoever. Not even a bottle of water.

Nice room with closet (not pictured anywhere i could find) Quiet, dark, good air conditioning. Pillows leave something to be desired but bed was comfortable. Pool was perfect temperature but jacuzzi was over chlorinated. Only issue I had was there was never any water in the container that was located in the front lobby for guests.

I do not recommend this hotel as it seemed more like a motel. I paid 180 for an outdated room small restroom no streaming options on TV old sheets old carpet old bathroom and a patio with sliding door that over looked the parking lot and freeway. This place was super noisy. They gave me a room connected to another one and we can hear the other rooms full on conversation. There was a lot of noise in the night in the parking lot all night long and and we can hear everything outside because of the sliding doors. Around 6 am there was a van backing up that made a lot of noise. The bathroom was soooo tiny and so was the room the bathroom was very very very outdated I didn’t even want to shower because it didn’t look sanitary, and the carpet was also super old as well as the building. The sheets looked like they been used for a long time. Overall this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in telling you it seemed more like a motel. They also didn’t have elevators. You had to carry your heavy luggage up the stairs The lobby looks nothing like the rooms. Overall I give this a 1 star.
