This budget hotel exceeded my expectations and is a good value. Be aware that the Tenderloin area is rough with many homeless but at no point did I feel unsafe. The Admiral hotel itself is quite old and I found it's historic designation interesting. The check-in was smooth and the clerk very helpful in demonstrating the keys and elevator, a pleasant and friendly interaction. The hotel appears worn but it was clean and I did see maintenance staff present. The impression I got is it also serves as a residential hotel but it was quiet and the one person I encountered was friendly. The corner room itself was at the end of the hall on the sixth floor so you have a good view of the surrounding area. The room was clean with some thoughtful amenities including nice towels and sheets. Definitely some wear and tear but for the price it was perfectly adequate. The bed was good and I slept well but be aware the streets below are somewhat noisy and the trash trucks came through very early so you might want to bring earplugs. Absolutely no noise from the other units during my stay however. This hotel was a short distance from the Great American Music Hall so it really suited my needs and I would stay here again.
The room was nice and the host was helpful. The room was a bit cold for our January visit the host offered a heater but it didnât help too much. The street was noisy and not a great area to stay in.
Room was fine but parking was horrendous. We had to get up every morning to move car
Room was fine but parking was horrendous. We had to get up every morning to move car to avoid towing. However, because street parking changed every day and were unclear, my car was ticketed and towed. The tow cost over $600. Before you book, makparking is included
The location is very localized and around many fun things. Itâs a bit rough so you need to keep your wits about you in the area, but that is to be expected in a dense city anyways. The people are friendly and reasonable!
This location is historic. Surrounded by lots of restaurants. If the building had central air overall experience would be better. Coming from Alaska i like it colder.
Overall, it was a great value for my stay. The neighborhood is a little rough and very loud at night and the rooms are a little rough around the edges. It is a dated property but well maintained. Management is very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Good spot for adults looking for low budget stays.
