Great value hotel, especially with the included continental breakfast. It's old and has a bit of a musty odor, but I could live with that considering the price. There's no parking, but was able to get a good price in a parking garage two blocks away via Spothero. We were a family of four and were in a room with a queen bed and a twin trundle bed. I would recommend maxing out with 3 people per room as the trundle bed when pulled out created a very tight space (basically had to do parkour to get from the bed to the bathroom to not step on my son). Definitely a great option for someone traveling on a budget, looking to stay in Union Square

Interesting historic hotel in a great location. It just so badly needs a renovation. The room smelled musty, the sheets felt rough, the bed was super uncomfortable, and the paintings on the walls just seemed dated. The breakfast wasn't wonderful but we appreciated that there was food downstairs -- especially since San Fran is so expensive!

Good location, blocks from Chinatown. Room was clean. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was good. Elevator is vintage. Lobby is beautiful. All in all, very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

I really enjoyed everything about it, its Very old fashioned and nice! The room was nice and spotless. I was on the 5th floor, the view was good in my room. The bed was nice and comfy. Bathroom was clean. Customer service was nice and professional. NOW the reason i wont give it 5 stars is the parking situation... that's probably THE ONLY issue... the parking garage they "offer" is small and narrow for most vehicles to fit through so i had to park around the corner and pay 70$ overnight fee for a parking garage. Now given it was Santa Bar night (Dec 13th) so that probably drove the cost waaaay up for the garage but still... the hotel should team up with a parking garage nearby to get some sort of discount for the people staying there at the Mayflower... Parking is a Nightmare but other than that... Its a REALLY cool hotel😁

We stayed here for two nights and had a great experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, with a mini fridge, microwave, sink, and basic dishes. The bathroom was clean and everything worked well. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfast included a waffle machine, toast, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, and fresh fruit. We would definitely stay here again.

Really enjoyed staying at the Mayflower. I am the type of traveler that just needs a place to sleep and use as a base while exploring. Yes, the hotel is dated, but I would say "vintage" instead. It is clean and the staff are kind and helpful. I loved operating the vintage elevators. If you are expecting all luxury hotel amenities at the value rates that this place charges, don't book. If you want a clean, quiet, well located hotel for an great rate in SF, this is your place. My standard queen room had a fridge and microwave, and some basic dishes and utensils. No in room coffee. They have coffee and a basic continental breakfast dining room off the lobby. The store nextdoor has everything you could need. Oh, and had a walk in closet. Don't see that....ever.

Very good value for the price, a nice 100 year old hotel in good shape, large room, comfortable bed, in a good section of Nob Hill area. TV didn't work, and continental breakfast was average, but I didn't need those things. I will definitely stay at the Mayflower again.
