An incredible and special place that has filled our hearts over the past 4 days and made the beginning of our trip to Belize something we will never forget. The Treehouse is even MORE impressive than the listing or pictures could ever do justice. Attention to detail is in every corner and the property is so well cared for and located in such a beautiful setting. Ms. Catherine, the owner is a gracious host. She communicated brilliantly and helped us stay organized prior to our arrival (our first time in Belize) and has made sure you will have anything you need in the house once you get here. We booked our tours through her recommendations and she arranged everything on our behalf and the tour guides and operators were so thoughtful and took great care of us. Tito is the care taker of the property. He greeted us when we arrived and showed us everything. He checked on us each night to ensure we were good and didnât need anything. The house is immaculate and just beautiful.
The Treehouse is attentively designed and furnished. Both the owner and property manager were great with their communication. The design of the house made it less than ideal for us. A few things to consider: the sitting room is a sleeping space, but is contiguous with the kitchen/dining room/office area. So any light or noise in the center of the house will impact the person sleeping on the day bed. Second, the exterior areas were less than ideal in their function. The limited lighting on the upper deck meant that we couldn't eat dinner outside after dark (6pm in March; one LED string and candles for exterior lighting). The pool and pool table are located under the house. To reach them you need to exit by the front door, walk down the only set of stairs, and then walk under the house. This was surprisingly inconvenient for us and we wound up not using the pool as much as we would have if access were easier. Third, the angles of the house meant that each bedroom had a clear view into the other; this was especially apparent at night. Fourth, the house's quiet location (we heard howler monkeys every morning) comes with a cost: a 1.5 mile unpaved road to reach it. Last issue to be aware of: the house's water is pumped directly from the Mopan River. Sediment is filtered, but the water is not purified. It is inexplicable that the house does not have a stand for a 5 gallon purified water bottle (the norm in Belize) and oddly cheap that the house comes only with 1G of H20.
The Treehouse was perfect for the last part of our Belize holiday. Tito, the caretaker was on site when we arrived. He was extremely helpful & communication was prompt. We liked how it is centrally located, so we could enjoy the many activities in and around San Ignacio. Loved hearing all the sounds of the jungle in the mornings and cooling off in the pool late in the day. A rare find for a truly different lodging experience; we would recommend The Treehouse.
Very roomy, nice big showers, beds comfortable, tucked away on a less busy road. Had a little difficulty with dishwasher cleaning good. Nice big fridge.
The caretaker Tito was incredible, the place is fairly large, nicely furnished, kitchen is well equipped and very clean. Peaceful getaway. Road to the Treehouse was rough due to the wet weather conditions, high clearance 4-wheel drive recommended.
We had such a lovely stay at the treehouse. My cousin and I fell in love with the home the second we walked in the door. Tito met us there and gave us the lay of the land and many tips to get around. Catherine was so attentive and the connections to the trips and guides were spot on. We went on the Pine Ridge tour and did the ATM cave and were blown away by the beauty of the land and the knowledge of our guides. The home and activities combined made this a trip of a lifetime! I would highly recommend staying in this special place. Just amazing!
Family of 6. Stayed two nights. The house is top notch. Just beautiful. Spacious and clean. The pool is cool and refreshing. Dream kitchen. We loved every bit of it. And Tito was super incredible. Very communicative and helpful.
All in all a terrific experience
This lux, unique, exotic treehouse was amazing, uplifting and soul stirring to see and stay in for our too brief two night stay. The house is gorgeous and the decorative flair throughout was uplifting and inspiring to behold.
Though we did not cook on the stellar top of of the line stovetop, the gorgeous kitchen with its cool concrete countertops and dark, gleaming cabinetry, made the little food prep we did, all the more pleasurable.
The treehouse though a sight to behold in and of itself, the plethora of a seeming 1000 birds plus wildly flying and singing amongst the tall trees and the treehouse tree at dusk was otherworldly amazing. Followed by the chorus of crickets, and the changing colored lights in the pool a night, access to the river a short walk across the street, all in all was exquisite and enchanting:: this indeed unique, treasurable treehouse.
We are especially grateful our small dog was welcomed to stay in the treehouse as well. Our little dog was all wags and smiles throughout her stay.
Catherine is a great host and provided impeccable professionalism and was friendly and engaging throughout our communications. Tito the caretaker was courteous and informative and helpful.
It is true like other reviewers said, of the road being particularly bumpy to drive up to the house. For us, it was all part of the wondrous adventure.
The highlight of our trip: was a private tour of the incredible ATM cave that Catherine arranged.
We hope to stay here again!
I spent a few days here with my family. The area is beautiful, safe and quiet. My son loves the pool. The house is so unique and had everything needed to enjoy time there. If you are thinking of staying here, I'd recommend getting groceries before you arrive as the house is not close to any dining or grocery, but this is what we were looking for. If you want to tranquility, this is your place!! We took some day trips to local spots which we enjoyed immensely. The locals are friendly and nice but not overly curious as we have experienced in other countries. We spent our first few days of a longer trip to Belize which included the islands, and the treehouse was my favorite part of the trip!!
The property was quiet and peaceful. Private pool was a big plus. Loved the kitchen. Catherine provided information about tours, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Tito helped us find the Treehouse and kept the pool in great shape. We would definitely recommend and would rent again if we return to Belize. Thanks Catherine and Tito!
Our family of 6 enjoyed a wonderful 4 nights in this unique and very comfortable property with very comfortable amenities. The team was excellent ahead of, during, and after our stay. Would recommend and will visit again!
We came during rainy season and it rained our entire stay but The house was a perfect spot for us to relax and play games and have fun. We will definitely come back again. Thanks for everything.
The Tree House exceeded our expectations! We were greeted by the care taker upon arrival giving us the run down. The house was beautiful and the views were amazing. They helped make last minute arrangement for tour which started and ended at the house. An adventure me and my family will never forget. Thanks!
This very secluded property was perfect for us. The communication and customer service by Catherine was great. She scheduled all our excursions for us and her provider did not disappoint. Edwin and his employees were awesome!
No hesitation in recommending. Just be aware it is several miles down a very rough, rocky road. Take great care with your rental car!
Wonderful locationâ the only downside is the rough road to get to it. Tito was very accommodating while we were there. Great to chat with him when our paths crossed.
If you love cool architecture and beautiful furnishings, this is the place for you. The jungle setting was beautiful. We heard Howler Monkeys in the mornings and evenings and enjoyed the view from the spacious deck. Come prepared with your own water though. They don't recommend drinking the tap water and only provide 1 gallon for your group for your entire stay. Also, try not to arrive after dark. Because there are no house numbers it's hard to find and the treehouse is not visible from the road. A sign by the road would be helpful.
San Ignacio is cool to explore. We highly recommend the AJAW Chocolate tour and the Caves Branch river tour. Guides are available at the entrance. Our favorite restaurant of our entire Belize trip was Guava Limb in San Ignacio. A++
We had such a wonderful time staying at the tree house. Tito took excellent care of us and is a genuinely fine human, treehouse is lucky to have. The home is safe and clean. Far enough out of town to be quiet but close enough to anything you might want to do in town. Remote work with video conferencing no problem at all. We would definitely stay again.
Beautiful, one-of-kind house located a short distance outside of San Ignacio. Expansive views. Owner, Catherine, was extremely responsive and very helpful. Caretaker, Tito, was attentive, prompt and courteous.
We would definitely stay there again!
We (2 adults, 1 14 year old boy) loved this place. There was plenty of room with privacy. It was especially perfect in the covid world we live in right now. We don't really like people so it will also be perfect when covid has burned out! You could hear howler monkeys in the surrounding jungle. The pool was refreshing. Watching birds was great. We took 1 day off just to enjoy the house which was a good call. Tito was very helpful. He got us in touch with Edwin who runs an excursion service. That worked out well. We did ATM cave and Caracal. The main roads in Belize are good. The smaller roads are crap. It is a good idea to use a guide to drive to Caracal. That road is horrendous. The ATM road wasn't too bad. We drove to Calico Jack's for zip line. That road was similar to the road to the house (crap but doable). We had a mid sized suv from Pancho's that we rented at the airport. The guy made it clear that changing a tire was not going to be his problem. We were able to watch the football bowl games at the house on New Years which was nice. Roxy and Lucky are nice. They let you know when anybody is walking by the house. A microwave would be a nice addition. It would be nice to stay for a couple of weeks and really get to experience the area. The people were all really friendly. The Amish and Mennonite are intriguing and they make Great ice cream and other dairy products.
The treehouse was absolutely FABULOUS!!!! We are an adventurous outdoor loving family of 5, (kids ages 9, 13, 15) and were expecting a rustic treehouse. What we walked into was a luxurious, well decorated, gorgeous house built around a century old tree with a great view, great outdoor space, a cook's kitchen, with great wifi service and a wonderful caretaker. We were surprised to find a pool table below the house which provided even more outdoor fun for our family. There were fruit producing trees which Tito, the caretaker, was kind enough to find some ripe coconuts and cut them open for the us to try the meat and milk! We planned 3 nights in Western Belize and 5 nights in the Cayes. When the morning of our departure came, we wanted to stay in the treehouse!!! We were conveniently located to San Ignacio where we enjoyed the farmers market on Saturday, easily accessible to the Mayan Ruins as well as cave tubing, horseback riding, ziplining, and more! Tito was very knowledgeable about the area and was a joy to talk to. We will definitely be returning to The Treehouse!!! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home with us!
Beautiful property! Lots of space inside and out. Gorgeous pool. Heavenly beds. Huge kitchen. Stunning furnishings and lush landscape. Belize at its best!
It's definitely a bumpy road out to The Treehouse, but worth the ride. It was a great house to come back to at the end of a full day of sightseeing around Belize - lots of space, in a beautiful setting, and very comfortable. Tito was a great help and readily available.
This property is nicer than the photos show. It is in pristine condition. Everything, including the finishings, kitchenware, linens and even the towels are first rate. The front yard is planted with fruit trees and leads down to the Mopan River. The spaces inside are large...4 people can work in the kitchen simultaneously. A quiet oasis to return to after a day on dusty roads and hikes. And the pool, pool table and large deck for birdwatching make the house a joy to relax in when you need a day off from exploring. The owner could not be more responsive and helpful, as is the caretaker Tito. You will not regret renting this unique, beautiful property.
