Small nice hotel in the heart in San Jose on barrio Escalante, very convenient to stay 1-2 nights to enjoy the city and/or night life . Room is average, beds, beddings, towels, soap in the bathroom, no fan or AC, it was a cool weather, so no needed. No elevator for the second floor, about 10 steps. The breakfast is great with traditional Costa Rican gallo pinto, coffee and fruits to start the day. Easy to walk everywhere or call Uber/taxi
Nice stay but no AC in the rooms and they didnât have fans available upon request so the room was quite hot and it was very loud outside in the morning
I came to check in with my 83 year old handicapped parents and there were no elevators, no handicapped parking accessible and my father was very unimpressed with the quality of this hotel (itâs old and very plain) and its sketchy location. We stayed at the Hyatt Place previously and this is a 2 star in comparison for the same rate. I didnât know when I booked there would not be an elevator and the staff refused to refund. I did not cancel the reservation but someone on their end did for me because it showed as cancel in Orbitz when I opened the app. While trying to acquire another hotel, this hotel came up as a choice on Orbitz but when I clicked on it to âtry to bookâ, there were no rooms available.
Doing your laundry in San Joseâ can be hassle and itâs expensive. Also, the light above the bathroom sink, that I need to shave, was out and it wasnât the bulb.
