Dog friendly hotel. The building is older and the outside doors and windows don't lock, but it was very clean and our room was nice. The breakfast was very well stocked and the coffee was delicious .

Carpet needs cleaning- our socks were very dirty after walking on it for two days. Phone was not hooked up and with the erratic internet it would have been nice to have it as an option. Breakfast was meager and some of the food tasted stale. No A/C, and it was quite warm when we were there. Bed was not comfortable because the mattress was hard.

My TV did not work and I mentioned it to the guy who checked me in and I thought he was going to send someone to fix it but never did so thank goodness I had my iPad. The door to the room wasn’t flush so light was coming in all night. The floor in the bathroom needed additional caulking because when you stepped on it, it would creek and that was annoying. Apparently the hotel is going to be redone and that’s great but it doesn’t do much for me because things need to be fixed and they weren’t so that wasn’t good.

Nice place. Games to play. Pool inside although didn't have a chance to use it.looked nice. Breakfast was good, waffles hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit yogurt bagels and coffee! Close to beach and Elephant Seal visitor center and 7.8 miles from the live view of seals.

For the price, the breakfast should include hot food (eggs at least) and the wifi should be more reliable. Helpful staff and a nice beach within walking distance made the difference.

This may have been the best property for the money in the area but can't be sure of that, it needs some help in some areas. It is very close to Hearst castle so there is that. It was quiet which we liked, staff helpful. The room itself just needed some upgrades that would not cost a lot but which need to be done, We slept well and it did the job.

The hotel was really pleasant however there were a large group of motorcyclists staying and we were booked into the room next to the car park. If we had been in a different room I would rate as excellent. Area surrounding hotel was beautiful and access to Hearst castle and the seal cove was easy. We wouldn’t recommend the next door Mexican restaurant as overpriced with mediocre quality.
