Lovely room, and we were upgraded to an awesome suite just because it was my birthday weekend! Who does that anymore?? These guys!! The staff were lovely, we thoroughly enjoyed the happy hours and evening cookies and milk. The king sized bed was heavenly!

The room was fine except that the carpets should be changed out for hard wood or wood like flooring due to the dirt/musty smell. Be aware when using the fireplace, our Carbon Monoxide detector went off at 1 am when we were burning the hotel provided fire log. duraflame. We had to evacuate our room and be relocated to another room. I asked to talk to the manager and left my name and number but she did not respond to my email or request for call. The front desk gave us a refund for the one night. As a result I reported the issue to the fire department in Santa Barbara to do an inspection on the rooms to make sure the fire places and COz monitors are in proper working order because we could have died from Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Maybe the fireplace was blocked? I do not know. The fire department said they were going to do an inspection. I would recommend that you bring a portable carbon monoxide detector if you are staying here.

153 year old hotel (oldest in So Cal) in a great downtown SB location. Sufficiently good condition and comfortable king bed so what more do you need for a crash pad after a concert and a night of partying?

The hotel is in a really good location. Easy to walk to State Street where there are a lot of shops. But also to attractions, museums, historical sites, and the wharf area. Our room was cozy and quiet. The grounds are nicely kept. The only negative is a small one. There are not enough electric outlets for charging our electronics at the same time.
