The hotel is walking distance to the pier. We stayed on the upper floor suite. It is spacious and complete with amenities. Beds are comfortable. We got to use the roll out and sofa beds (which are already made). We also have a designated parking spot which made it very convenient. Three things for improvement: overall smell of the suite, the cleanliness of the sofa (we had to use wipes to remove some grease smudges on the sofa and found chip crumbs when we opened the sofa bed), and not enough partition in the shower to keep the water from spraying out on the bathroom floor keeping the towel mat soaked. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The staff were helpful, warm, and they made us feel valued. Thank you.

The West Beach Inn is right on the main road fronting Santa Barbara harbor and beach. It is conveniently walkable to the main part of downtown Santa Barbara and the pier, where the shops and restaurants are located. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and neat, and the property was well maintained. Best of all, the room rates were lower than some of the more expensive hotels located closer to the pier and downtown area.

Basic stay close to beach and downtown.

Great location, nice amenities. Would have liked a gym. The pool was good and the Continental breakfast was appreciated. A little pricey for such a minimalist place, but you pay for location.

The front staff knew we were staying for 2 nights but unfortunately, they put us at the closest room to the construction. We heard nothing but banging/hammering, talking, and a machine that sounded open a chainsaw on the roof, from 11am-4pm. It was my husband’s birthday so we were very excited to have some peace, quiet, and relaxation but that did not happen. Very unhappy because there were so many rooms they could’ve put us in. I notified the staff regarding the noise and they were supposed to notify the manager but no one has called me. The room was nice, a little small, but had what we needed. The bathroom and shower was a good size. AC worked great. Very convenient and safe area. Wine and cheese was a nice touch, along with continental breakfast. No hot food such as bacon or sausage, but fruit, yogurt and bagels were fine.

Nice location by the beach. Has good common areas. Breakfast was decent. They ran out of batter for waffles quite early (Should prepare ahead). One small thing: the bathroom smelled a bit damp (not sure if the vent was running with weak flow).

Overall just a bad experience. Upon entering the room I ran into a spiderweb and noticed a few flying bugs in the room. The room wasn’t that clean either. There was even some weird orange goop on the ceiling. The first night of our stay there was a power outage at night. The outage lasted more than three hours. I walked around and the other properties in the area still had power. Not sure why it was only our hotel. I had to shower in the dark and since I don’t feel comfortable leaving the windows open the room was uncomfortably warm since no AC. In the morning at 9am I was woken up by loud walking and construction on the roof. I went to the front desk and asked what’s going on, to which the receptionist said there was nothing going on. I to reiterate that I was for sure there was someone on the roof and then she checked the computer to say oh they should be done now. I explicitly asked will there be construction tomorrow, if there was I was going to cancel my stay and go somewhere else. I was reassured there wouldn’t be. Guess what 9am the next day, more loud walking on the roof and construction. At this point I am just annoyed. I came for a relaxing vacation with my wife who works night shift only to be woken up abruptly on both mornings of my trip. I had to speak to the manager and she ended up gave us discount which ended up being less than 20% of what we paid to stay there. I would highly recommend everyone stay away from this hotel. Overall just not a good experience.
