Che Guevara and Los Lirios in Santa Clara!

I was in Santa Clara for a single day to visit the amazing memorial complex of Che Guevara including the extraordinary memorial, absolutely fascinating museum and the extremely atmospheric and very dignified mausoleum. Behind the complex is a peaceful burial site of other revolutionaries and an Eternal Flame. In front of the complex is the Plaza de la Revolucion. It's an absolute must to visit untouristy Santa Clara for Che Guevara's final resting place when in Cuba and I highly recommend staying at least 2 nights at Los Lirios! The location is very good, close to the centre of Santa Clara and within walking distance of Che's memorial if you're into walking. I had excellent communication with my host Elizabeth before arriving at the bus station about 9 pm to find a taxi waiting for me as agreed. The room I had booked was not available for the first night so I was given a different room and then moved into my booked room for the second night. These things do happen and did not in any way ruin my stay at Los Lirios. My booked room was very nice with high ceiling, plenty of space, a fridge, nice shower and an atmosphere of times gone by! Which is even more true about the very atmospheric front room where I spent some time relaxing in the evening in a nice rocking chair typical of a traditional Cuban home I believe. 2025 was long gone in that moment and I disappeared into the shadows of yesteryear!Thank you very much to Elizabeth and her husband for a very nice stay at Los Lirios

The best place to stay

This was a gem of a place!! Inside was a little palace! Great location, delicious breakfast, lovely clean room. Shower was amazing and lovely clean towels. 1 night was not enough in Santa Clara!!

A pleasant traditional Cuban courtyard, rooms with traditional windows (shutters but no glass) that open onto the courtyard. Friendly people. Good breakfast for US$5 extra.

The courtyard where you eat and use the WiFi is delightful. The hosts were lovely people who were excellent at sorting things for you if needed, and were very kind to me when I became ill. I recommend you speak some Spanish if you're planning stay here, though they're happy to use a bit if Google Translate app if you get stuck. Wonderful stay!

Convinient for a night

The garden was beautiful and the bathroom was clean. The location was convenient. However, the host was very friendly and did not make us feel comfortable and the room was not nice, surely not worth the amount of money we spent! Internet was charged by the hour.
