Look - this isn’t the nicest hotel/motel in the world, but it’s certainly not the worst. It’s a B+ in my book. And considering how much less expensive it runs than everything around it, I would recommend staying here, for sure! Great location. And don’t miss the Chinese restaurant! It’s fantastic. :-)

El Sendero stands out among the options in downtown Santa Fe for being reasonably priced, while clean and modern. While the rooms are a little small, the beds are comfortable and the staff is fantastic. It's within a five minute walk of the downtown plaza and numerous restaurants, and about the small distance from Canyon Road, with the entry into the National Forest being about a 30 minute walk.

Older room but overall very clean and a lovely staff. Breakfast was great and vegetarian friendly. They have a little store with anything you might need for white sands including sleds you can borrow. It was also a very short drive to White sands or Lincoln forest with lots of food options in the area.
