The hotel feels tired. I arrived late and my room was dark and uninviting. The gym was very small and didn’t have many accessories like balls or bands. I did like the staff especially in the restaurant at breakfast.

Great location, wonderful staff. Pool area is nice and well maintained. The hotel and rooms are a bit tired and need a refresh especially for the price. The bathroom is especially challenging- no counterspy at all- difficult to function in. Shower is a shower/tub not our favorite- bad water pressure. We were expecting it to be more luxurious. The room was lovely, spacious and comfortable. The bed slept great and we loved the linens. Loved the outdoor patio with seating. We were able to leave the door open and could hear the thunderstorms overnight. It can be a little pound in the evening with people coming home late after number but it’s short lived they don’t linger. The elevator is a tad slow but there are stairs if you are impatient. Some staff called out on Saturday so the bar was down but the “pool guy” hopped in and made everyone happy! Kudos. Beautiful and historic, would definitely stay there again. Comfort is my mai concern and for that I give them a 10

The girl at the front desk when we checked in was rude. I booked 2 rooms on hotels.com and only had the confirmation from Hotels.com. She said she couldn’t accept it and needed a direct confirmation from the hotel, which I never received. She just kept repeating that they were fully booked and there was nothing she could do. I asked her to search by name and she found both reservations. I have never been treated so rudely when I clearly had a confirmation email.

I was very disappointed for the price we paid. The property is advertised as a 4-star, but our stay felt like a 2.5/3 star at best. We had decided to spend more than our budget to get a better experience for our wedding anniversary, but regret our choice - the property is far from as advertised. Next time, we will just stay elsewhere and pay the correct price for the adequate level of experience/stay. More details: shower head did not function properly; beds were too small for 2 people; grimy surfaces in the bathroom; worn carpet in the room; balcony easily-accessed by neighbors with very low level of security lock on balcony door. This place is rustic, for sure, but more rustic/cheap than rustic/antique/western.

Very nice hotel, and the location is very convenient. Unfortunately, when it takes almost 20 hours to get to the hotel because of flight issues. When we arrive at 2:00am to be told that they don’t have a room for us after having a reservation and they booked us at another hotel. So after an hour of back and forth we finally got our room with our other family members
