They kept my security deposit despite me paying anything that was eaten or drink in the hotel before my departure hotel.com try to reach out to them and they’re ignored them. They’re ignoring me. It’s a great hotel. Everything is nice but getting your security deposit back if you don’t check is nearly impossible unless you go to Hilton directly.

El hotel es muy lindo, cómodo y con muchas amenidades bonitas. El desayuno está rico y variado. El restaurante del segundo piso no tiene muy buen servicio…. La comida estaba aceptable pero no nos sentimos bien atendidos. Pero lo más malo fue una cucaracha que encontró mi hijo en su habitación en la almohada. Y a falta de una fueron 2 cucarachas, después los cambiaron de habitación, pero eso no cambia el haber encontrado cucarachas en la habitación. Yo volvería pero si necesitan poner atención en la limpieza.

The bedroom was very spacious and comfortable. It was also modern and the beds/linen were very nice. However, I have a few comments: 1) Although the room was spacious, for the price, there was no complementary water and house keeping was sloppy. They did not clean well. 2) The suite we stayed at had no drapes in the bathroom, and not only was it a privacy concern, but sunlight was brutal from 5am onwards. 3) The drapes in the bedroom did not stop the light from coming in on the sides. The sun in Santa Marta is extremely bright from early in the morning so sleeping in is out of the question. 4) The breakfast buffet area is chaotic. The staff regularly forgot our order, and we left without eating a few times because the waiting time was SO long. 5) The check in and check out processing time was unacceptable. The queue at the front desk was absurd for a 5 star hotel of $400+ a night. 6) Although most of the staff were nice, they fundamentally lack training in pretty much every aspect. When I compare it to what on paper should be a similar experience, like the Sofitel Casablanca hotel in Cartagena, the Hilton falls below expectations by a wide margin. 7) The breakfast buffet had a variety of foods, but most of it was not good. 8) The pool on the 2nd floor is in the shade most of the day, which is a nonsensical design flaw and oversight.

Beautiful hotel, away from town. Extremely helpful doormen. Beautiful ocean view/. My only negative was I arranged 4 days thru expedia and on day 2 asked if I would stay 2 more days. They told me I would have to check out, wait until 3 and check back in. This would be for M-W stay. They definitely were not fully booked. Neither could they give me a price thru them for the added two days. Also, I asked to keep a pool towel for a tour to Tayrona which left before towel check out was open and they refused, saying I would be charged and they don’t loan towels for tours. I went to Minca for my last two days instead and that was a great choice! It all worked out but did leave a bad taste for the unhelpful front desk staff.
