Grandeur and comfort with wonderful views

Pros: The room, the views, the pleasant and helpful staff, the meals.
Cons: As my husband and I need walking sticks, a gentle ramp with railings would have helped. I am aware there is a side entrance for disabled people.
Location: We were only passing through from the ferry port, but Santander seems a lively town with lots going on.
This was our second visit to the splendid Hotel Real. The name says it all--one of Spain's former monarchs stayed here. Our room was on the 5th floor, and had lovely views over the bay. I can highly recommend this fine hotel. No boutique modernist stuff here; this has class. We shall certainly return.

Classic hotel

Classic hotel with beautiful archetecture. Lovely sea view, Good location for ferry port. Acces to pool and spa 28 euros for 1.5 hours !. Free acces to gym only. Excelent meal in beautiful surrounding. Good overall package included evening meal and breakfast. Bed not very comfortable but nice room. Would stay again.
