This property is in a perfect spot to walk anywhere your heart desires, from the Riverfront to historic shops and areas. There was plenty of room and space to unload our belongings. We loved sitting in the "secret garden" and felt safe in this location. I would stay here again.
Great apartment and location. Door sticks but once you figure out how to open it, youâre good to go. Check in Was super easy and everything was within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay.
Location, location, location! We were able to walk to everything in Savannah and it was just a short drive to things outside the city like Tybee Island and Bonaventure Cemetery. Likewise, the rental was spectacular. Had a warm and welcoming eclectic feel with a fun juxtaposition of the historic and modern. Spacious. Beds were comfortable and water was hot. Adequate toiletries. Quiet outdoor space to enjoy morning coffee was delightful. Won't hesitate to stay again.
At first it felt like this location might be slightly off the beaten path given there are more Central downtown locations to choose from, but once you are there, you realize how awesome this location is being between Forsyth Park and the downtown area, all while being on Jones Street which has been named one of the prettiest streets in the country. I'd actually choose this location again over the ones that were more downtown we've stayed at before. The place was also nice and solid value for the money compared to what else was out there. Communication and check-in were all so easy. Would definitely recommend this place and likely would stay here again in the future. It was perfect for two couples. Only downside, which we knew ahead of time, is sharing a bathroom. In that scenario. The shower was also incredibly short but totally doable for a few days.
We loved being in the historic district within walking distance to so many things to do. The accommodations were clean and had everything we needed. We're two short women so ground level was perfect for luggage hauling. The private courtyard was my favorite space! Communication was prompt and courteous. Would book again.
Plenty of space for a family of four. Great location for exploring downtown Savannah, SCAD, riverfront, and historical sites. The apartment is located on the ground floor of a large house. The rooms are large, and the laundry is a plus. The only downside was the single bathroom, which did not match the level of the rest of the apartment. The bathtub belongs in an old motel.
My daughter and son-in-law spent a week in this home while spending time in Savannah. The location is perfect for walking to all historic places of interest and resturants in downtown. The home is clean, quiet, cozy and well maintained. We plan to stay here in the future!
We were visiting with our toddler and baby, and the location was perfect for walking everywhere with our stroller! The apartment was clean and comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. The only downside was the shower was quite short, but that isnât a big enough problem to bring down the rating for us.
Wanted to be in the middle of the parks this time around and this was the perfect spot! Right in the middle of everything, just a few blocks away from the riverfront. Would stay here again in the future.
Very pleasant stay. Quiet block and the apartment was quiet as well. Older building but up to date enough to relax comfortably after walking the the very nearby parks. Had everything you need. My eight year old is very personable ( to put it mildly) and the neighbors were kind). Great restaurants under a 5 minute walk as well.
Iâm around 6â-8â tall and it was a bit tight with the shower height, but normal sized humans should not be concerned. We would stay again.
We enjoyed the convenient and pretty location. Easy walking to many things.
While the description was not inaccurate, I wish it had been more robust. I wish the description had included the height of the ceilings and (importantly) that the showerhead is short. I'm 5'11" and the top of the shower head was at the level of the bridge of my nose, so all the water coming from it was at my neck and below.
Otherwise it's spacious and pretty clean. The upholstery and some of the corners/floors could use cleaning. I dropped a pill and saw that under the bed and behind the door were pretty dusty.
We were in Savannah for one week due to my daughter attending a SCAD summer seminar. This location is utterly perfect for anyone visiting Savannah. We were within walking distance of everything, on the most beautiful street in the Historic District, and the place itself was restful and lovely. We had such a great time! Our hostess was responsive and terrific and even helped when the local power went out (nothing to do w the property, just storm in the area). While we did not cook, the kitchen was well appointed, and the furniture and beds were very comfortable. The washer and dryer were available should we have needed them. We felt quite special and spoiled! It's all elegant and lovely. Thank you Mary and Savannah Luxury Rentals!
The pictures matched the listing. It was very quaint and we really liked it. We enjoyed the seating area in the back. All of the flowers and greenery made it very pleasant to enjoy. East Jones Street is beautiful.
We were able to walk most everywhere. When our destination was a longer walk, we hopped on the DOT transportation which had a stop right around the corner.
The little restaurant across the street was convenient with great food and such a short walk.
However, we have three minor complaints:
1. It was extremely hot outside. We turned air conditioner to 66 which was very comfortable to us after being out in the hot hot weather. Twice we came back and temperature was set to 76. We aren't sure how that was happening. It made us very uneasy.
2. We arrived by plane, so we couldn't bring many supplies. We expected to have at least a starter pack for coffee for our first morning. There were two different types of coffee makers, but no coffee.
3. The lock to the front door wasn't very easy to use. Our first time using it, I had to call for help with it. Once we understood how to unlock the keypad, the door would stick and was difficult to open.
Even with these minor complaints, we would probably stay again.
The garden apartment is easy to find & access in the historic district. The apartment does have a damp smell & it could use a makeover. The main bedroom is in the front with 2 large windows & a comfy king size bed. The second bedroom is located in the middle with no windows but the bed is also comfy. The bathroom has a nice double sink but the shower needs improvement.
The living room was large with big windows but the furniture also needs a makeover. There is a low drop ceiling in the living room & kitchen.
There is a nice courtyard in the back, but the patio furniture was uncomfortable and no cushions were on the seats so we were not able to enjoy the area. The apartment was pretty clean but could have been better. I loved the area but I probably would not stay in this apartment again, unless it had to makeover.
This unit has a great location. We were able to get to most places within 10 minutes. It was clean and very spaces. Clarey's, which is located right across the street is a bonus. Me and two of my colleagues were in Savannah for a Summit. When I viewed the listing, it lists 3 bedrooms. As I looked through the photos what I did not realize was that one bed is shot from different angles. If I had known that there were only 2 beds, I would not have booked this unit. Also, when we first entered the unit, it had a mildew smell. I think a combination of the air-conditioner on 76 degrees and the air fresheners all being empty caused it to be more noticeable. After turning down the air a few degrees it was not as noticeable. We made it work.
The location of this unit is great! Place was nice and comfortable. Bathroom fixture needs worked on as difficult to turn on shower faucet. Faucet requires a lot of strength to pull on, but not a huge issue. Would stay again!
The property was not well kept. It was in need of repairs and painting. The beds were old, very soft and needed to be replaced.
I would never stay here again
This is my 2nd time staying at this VRBO. Both times it was extremely clean and the neighborhood is extremely nice. We were attending a wedding at Lafayette Square, so the location was perfect. The ground level was perfect for my 90 year old MIL who uses a walker. I definitely would stay again. Clarey's is located right across the corner and is a fantastic place to eat breakfast.
