Great location! Comfy beds. Beautiful views and easy access to a great beach. We liked that it was dog friendly, but didnât like that you could smell past accidents in the bedrooms especially. Also the hot tub was pretty dirty and the foam on one side of the cover was broken. This made it sag into the water and was really challenging to take off and put back on. I spent quite a bit of time sucking out sand an other nasty bits ( hair, bugs) out of the hot tub with the provided manual pump/vacuum. All that said, we are pretty easy to please and it was a great time with our family.
The kitchen needs a complete renovation. The condition of the oven/stovetop is atrocious, filthy glass on the oven. The interior of the cabinets and drawers is old and musty. The pots, pans, cooking utensils are in horrible shape, especially the pots and pans. The fridge is in bad shape with the rack in the door completely missing. The blinds on the kitchen window is in poor shape. The bathroom cabinetry is old and musty. There was mold around the caulking of the shower/tub. Bothe toilets are old and need to be updated. The bathroom countertop is old, looks like something out of the 1970âs. The carpets in the bedrooms smell like urine. The sheets on the bed are like sandpaper and the bed was worn put with no back support. The windows in the dining area were filthy which was ashamed since the setting and view is so nice. Two of the windows in the living room were dirty and their seal had been broken with the glass being obstructed by mildew and some type of calcium looking buildup. The hot tub has no lift for the cover and can be difficult/heavy to remove. The hot tub was dirty, with hair and dirt along the sides and sand in the bottom. The owners/management company should be embarrassed to rent this place to the public and should consider removing it from the market and renovating it. As it stands, it appears both are just interested in making as much profit off the home as possible without sinking little to know dollars into improvements.
Excellent view with great acces to the beach. The only reason i did not give 5 stars is because the hot tub was dirty with sand and pine needles left over from the previous guests. And the neighbors were nosy and liked to blast their music outside.
I think this place has the best view of Seal Rock, It was in a quiet location close to Newport to the North and Yachats to the South. Hot Tub was an added bonus and one of the best place to watch the sunset on the West coast is the bench built into the private steps going down to the beach.
Saw Eagles at Ona beach and seals in the water around Seal rock.
The property was amazing! Views, hot tub and all the windows. Only reason it wasn't 5 stars was that we didn't use 2 if the rooms because dogs before us had peed and there was stains and odors in living room and one bedroom. This isn't a property issue but cleaning and with a deep clean of carpet would be very fun!
Overall nice place. Could use better instructions about features of the home and the bedrooms smell faintly of dog, but the location is great and the house is generally clean and well maintained.
This property was so much better than we expected based on the photos. It's spacious, well-appointed, and the views are stunning. It's not fancy and it's "dated," but it's incredibly cozy and functional. The hot tub is such an awesome feature and is 99% private. There's one neighbor that could catch a glimpse of you if they really put the effort in. But if you want to sit naked in a hot tub overlooking the ocean, this is a pretty safe place for it. The kitchen leaves a bit to be desired--all of the pans are pretty beat up. The knives are dangerously dull. That's really my only big gripe about the property.
The beach access is a little tricky, as others have mentioned. There's a staircase part of the way and then, yes, it's a steep dirt trail. There is a rope to assist with going up and down. We managed to navigate it while carrying chairs both up and down. It isn't THAT bad. And if you're familiar with the Oregon Coast, you'll know that this is pretty average beach access. The beach itself was amazing. Sandy and EMPTY. What a treat.
The bedrooms are large and the beds are comfortable. One bedroom has a fairly firm bed while the other is softer. There is only one full bathroom and it is not attached to either bedroom (no true master), which is totally fine. Just something to note if you're wanting privacy.
It was clean, safe, and comfortable with stunning beach views and private access. What more can you ask for?! Book it!
Overall this place was great! Beach access, amazing views from the hot tub, and all very clean. The pictures are accurate, there is a new dining table that seats 6.
We would book it again!
This is a decent house with incredible views of one of the most scenic areas on the coast.
However, there are a number of issues that need to be addressed, for the safety of your guests as well as your civil liability. These have been reported in prior reviews and have not been fixed.
The property is not safe for children, seniors, the disabled or anyone who is not paying attention. There are no grab bars nor non-skid surface in the main bathroom nor are there handrails down the stairs into the living room nor from the back door to the deck, which is extremely slippery when wet.
Worse, the âfenceâ at the foot of the yard, the warning sign partially hidden by grass, and the stairs that descend to the beach are extremely hazardous. The fence consists of a few boards, one of which is partially fallen down, that stands at the edge of the rapidly eroding bluff. I can easily imagine an excited child climbing the fence to get a better look, and taking a dangerous tumble straight down to the beach 50 - 60 feet below. Ditto the stairs. It is definitely *not* an easy walk to the beach as your description suggests.
There are a number of other problems that I reported to Vacasa on 10/21/23 but have had no response. This house could be exceptional with some work. Why not invest some money into it now, before someone is seriously injured and youâre forced by the courts to pay?
Yes, I would stay here again for the view and because I love Seal Rock, but it wonât be my first choice.
We loved the house and property but the beach access was treacherous - not for the faint of heart - steps about 2/3 down, then a rope and rocks! Only the dog has an easy time with it and our seniors didnât even try!
Some some issues with the place the fan in bathroom didnât work the fire pit outside didnât look safe so we didnât use it the access to the beach was about 40 steep steps with no rail there needs to be a small rail to get in to the living room as well as a rail in the bathroom to get into the slippery shower there was pack of dust on the wooden beam in the living room thatâs been there for awhile as well as no fireplace working should be mentioned in the add assumed we could use it but couldnât
Other than those few things it was clean and enjoyable the view was worth the price!
Located on gorgeous beach with wonderful views from inside and outside of property and direct access to beach. House small but very comfortable. Stairs to beach steep but doable for couple in 60's. Only suggestion for improvement would be better equipped kitchen.
The property was clean, updated and had specatular view of the ocean. The 'short walk to the sand' is a 100 ft drop on an old stair/ladder with warning sign 'unstable ground: use at own risk'
So if you want to run your dogs you have to drive somewhere else. Theirceasy access to the beach was one of the main reasons we booked there. The code entry is tricky, we left for an outing and locked the door, at least I heard it ingage. When we got back the door was ajar. Then there were the ants and animals getting in the garbage can over night leaving a pile of the previous renter's cracked crab and oyster shells mixed in with the rest of the garbage that we had to pick up because the note inside says garbage pu is Wednesday, there can be no separate garbage on the ground. So the cleaners do not take away the garbage and the cans they leave for it are not secured from critters. Oh and the TV is behind the couch :~/ Also be aware the 3 bathrooms are in separate buildings. There is a small, musty studio cottage that is part of the rental whether you use it or not. And last but perhaps most importantly the driveway is difficult to see until you're right on it. There is no identifying marker that could make it less dangerous.
We went with the flow and had a great time but I would not stay here again. Rated 'okay'
Great location and fantastic views from the bluff! Beach access right from the house! Awesome beach and interesting tide pools when the tide was out. Two bedrooms in the house were large with comfortable king beds! We had a fantastic time and the only down side was the jacuzzi stopped working on the second evening there. When it was working, it was awesome! Will definately be going back to this house again!
We had such a lovely stay! Loved the location, access to the beach, views of the ocean and the hot tub! The house was very clean and had everything we needed!
Good location in seal beach, I thought the place was pretty great with plenty of space and felt cozy. Wish there was more food nearby as it was 10 miles either way to get dinner.
The house is well-situated on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The steps down to the beach, while steep, are useful. The hot tub worked perfectly. It was nice to sit in it while it was sprinkling. It was also relaxing to sit by the fire pit (wood is on the side of the second house). The houses were clean. Every room has it's own heater. It was a restful stay with three adults, two kids, and a small dog. Thank you!
