Lori and Ginny were the prefect hosts. I contacted them to arrive a day early as the drive was very long and they were able to accommodate me right away. The breakfasts were all made from family recipes and delicious. The grounds are relaxing and the breezes from Penobscot Bay across the street are soothing.
Wonderful property decorated and cared for with love. Lori & Ginny were wonderful hosts who share the history of the area and property which was so interesting. It was spotless and the bed and housing very comfortable and spaciousâŠ.and the breakfast was amazing! A real treasure for sure!
This is an outstanding historical property, gorgeous inside and out. Our hosts are friendly, accomodating, and highly talented in the kitchen. The room was spotless, private, and very comfortable. The yard was spectacular, with a fountain, sculptures, and large lawn even including a visiting young family of deer. Great view of the ocean from the front porch.
We had a wonderful three night stay at Captain Sweetser's while in Searsport for a wedding. Lori and Ginny, the owners, were friendly and welcoming to us and to our dog. They constantly checked in to see if we needed anything, made recommendations for places to go, and made a fantastic breakfast every morning. Highly recommend!
Very attentive welcoming hosts, beautiful property, lovely tour of home, helpful recommendations in the area, and willingness to tailor breakfast to avoid food allergens.
Owners were super friendly and did everything to make stay perfect. Great recommendations for dinners and places to visit as well. Made us feel like home!
Lori and Ginny are wonderfully helpful and friendly. Their inn is truly one of a kind. It's history is fascinating. I slept in the bedroom of a sea captain that sailed from Maine to Asia just like the father of in The Lupine Lady ( a picture book by Barbara Cooney)
This is one of the nicest places i have ever stayed in. The two lady's that run own this inn are soooo nice and welcoming. The breakfast they made every morning were the best tasting breakfast's ever. I absolutely loved the history tour as well. The room was so clean, and the bed was very, very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was outstanding and plenty of hot water. I loved hanging out drinking coffee in the very comfortable sun room and there are plenty of dining and adult beverage options within walking distance of the inn.
Lori and Gin were wonderful! The place is gorgeous and we cannot wait to stay there again! Lori met us in the driveway and gave us a tour and some of the history of the home which made the stay much more personable.
What a gem, this is a beautiful property. Rooms are immaculately clean and comfortable. The innkeepers are warm, friendly, and accommodating. The grounds and surrounding area are stunning.
This is an exceptional property, but even better service. Lori and Ginny were so kind, thoughtful, and accommodating. The breakfast and vibe of the space is fantastic. They also provide a lot of education about the house and area and truly care about keeping the history alive, and that pride shows clearly in how well the place is loved. The bed and room is very comfortable and well designed, and the common areas are beautifully renovated.
I loved staying in a home built in 1850 by a Captain who earned his living from the sea while surrounded by an economy supported by the sea. The hosts and guests were marvelous and interesting to meet. Everything was perfect including the location ... easily going north to Bar Habor and south to other attractions.
Our stay was just wonderful. The house is beautifully restored and very comfortable. It has a front porch with comfortable chairs that over looks the water.
It has a very comfortable lounge arrive with comfy large leather chairs. And the cooked to order is just delicious.
Finally I must say the inn keepers Ginny and Lori are warm and welcoming.
