The location was great and I'm really glad there was parking. There was also a grocery store nearby, which I appreciated and the location was very quiet. The space however could use some sprucing up or maybe a deep clean. There was a musty smell, which I'm sure would go away with opening some windows, and the bathroom and fridge could use a deep clean. Otherwise, if you just need a bed to sleep in, this place works.
The place was easy to find, great location- within walking distance of a bunch of things. It is a basement and along with basements- come spiders. It would have been nice to have more than one towel to shower with, since itâs a basement- towels stay damp and didnât dry out very well. It was a great place to stay for the week we were in Seattle.
Some key points to consider about this listing:The check-in process was very efficient, the owner was quick to respond to my message about checking in a bit early which I greatly appreciated. You have your own parking spot included which is also a big plus if youâre planning on having a car. This was one of the few pet-friendly stays I could find in this price range, which was essential for us. The bed and bedding is very comfy! The space was clean, albeit a bit worn out. The kitchen is small and limiting if youâre planning on cooking at all. The oven is absolutely tiny, we purchased a small tray to bake cookies which barely fit. Unfortunately, the oven temperature is also wildly inaccurate and caused our cookies to be burnt well before the bake time was up! If youâre staying during the chillier months, be aware that the space is warmed by a small electric heater. While effective, it is rather noisy and clunky, rattling and waking us up at night. Speaking of noise, you will hear every step the upstairs tenants make. Every every door closing, every toilet flush. I also find the listing to be a bit misleading with the âheart of Seattleâ title. While in a cozy residential neighborhood, I would say youâre a ways away from the city sights.Overall, though a bit disappointing in some areas, the space served my husband, our dog, and I well enough during our trip. Iâd recommend to consider these points and what youâre looking for in a stay!
The listing was accurate and easy to find. You can hear movement and plumbing from the overhead unit, so if you are a light sleeper this may not be the place for you. We enjoyed our stay and parking was a plus.
I come into town for work pretty often and am familiar with the neighborhood- I chose it because of its easy bus ride into downtown and affordability. Cute spot!
The unit is decent for the location, but it has several flaws that could be improved. The door does not lock, there is no microwave, and the shower setup is awkward. The towel rack fell off, and I found items left behind by a previous renter in a drawer, which made it feel like the unit wasn't thoroughly cleaned after checkout. The host did not respond to my message, and communication was lacking.Noise is also an issueâyou can clearly hear the upstairs renters walking, talking, and... other activities. The unit only has a space heater, so be prepared to be cold for a while until it warms up. Additionally, the fridge and freezer were dirty. One of the biggest concerns was a large window with no curtain, leaving the unit completely exposed to anyone passing by outside. I tried using a blanket for privacy, but it wouldnât stay up.That said, there are positives. The bed was comfortable, the location was fantastic and very walkable, and the unit was well-stocked with plenty of pots, pans, and silverware. There is ample storage, and itâs dog-friendly, which is a plus.Overall, small improvements could make a big difference in the experience. I believe hosts should consider staying in their own units for a week to truly understand what renters go through.
This stay was in a quiet neighborhood. The bed was comfortable and there was enough utensils for what we needed. Could use a few upgrades, but overall it was a comfy place to come back to after being out and about. A bit loud hearing renters upstairs but nothing terrible. It felt a bit out of the way from Capital Hill downtown - closer to Madrona - but we enjoyed walking and it was also easy to grab an Uber when we didn't want to walk.
This space was perfect and in a good neighborhood. Space was very clean. Instructions were very clear and promptly delivered. I definitely recommend this place.
This is a basic, no frills unit. Not even a tea bag to have a hot drink in the morning. On arrival at night there was no lighting, advised owner, appeared to be fixed for the next night although no communication advising us. Decent bed, good shower, newer flooring, quite clean, but generally a little rough around the edges. Needing a curtain on 2nd window as both windows look into the sleeping area. Overall an OK unit but with all the extra taxes and charges leaning on overpriced.
This was a good place to stay. It was clean and the bed was comfortable with a good shower with lots of water pressure. It is garden level so not much natural light. A few pictures on the white walls might have made it seem a bit more homey. And a light at the outside entrance would be good. Overall though it was a good value
It was clean, quiet and a good location. The bed was comfortable and good water pressure. The only thing i would say is its very dark. Not much natural light let in.
Great location for transport to downtown and Seattle Centre as it's at the crossroads of 2 and 8 Routes. Chris was very helpful and answered all questions quickly. If ever we come back, we would stay here again. Thanks Chris.
Very nice place to stay on the outskirts of the city
A very nice cozy apartment in a very nice quiet neighborhood just on the edge of the city
Would recommend staying here. Very accessible from the sea tac airport by link light rail and the bus system in Seattle!
