July 4th Getaway

We just come back from a 5 day stay on the lake. This property was very quiet and the lake was very beautiful. We all enjoyed the kayaks. The cabin is very spacious with plenty of room for all. The drive to town is a long but beautiful drive. The host were very friendly and easy to deal with. They checked in with us before, during and after our stay. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

What a view!

We had such a great time at Chris and Dana's cabin They were always available and very attentive. They house itself is lovely and so comfortable. And the view.... I realized when trying to take pictures, that it is just so much better in person! Gatlinburg, PF and Sevierville were very busy, so it was always nice to come back to the peaceful lake! Our only issue was with the Wi-Fi sporadically , but it gave us a chance to unplug. We would love to come back again!!

Our family of 6 adults loved our stay at Rise and Shine. Hosts were in constant contact before and after visit. Stunning house and views. Everything you need to enjoy yourself. We rented a pontoon boat from H2O sports. Special note: very windy roads coming to house!! Go slow. Would definitely stay again!! We loved everything about it!

Scenery for sanity

This place is amazing! It was the perfect getaway from everyday life and the hustle and bustle of business. The location is ideal for an escape from chaos. The house is tucked away on the hillside by itself. No neighbors in sight. (We also rented the smaller chalet on this property for some of the family to have extra space). Everything was clean and well stocked. Extra towels and linens were available. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, plates, cups, and grill was ready for use with a full propane tank. The kids enjoyed jumping off of the dock and swimming in beautiful Douglas Lake. The adults spent time fishing (TN license required) and boating (rentals available at H20 watersports nearby--awesome folks). The sunrises and sunsets were a welcome revival for the soul. This house has numerous gorgeous views of the lake and plenty of window space to enjoy them from indoors as well! The host and hostess were helpful and courteous. They checked on us every few days to make sure we didn't need anything. Overall, it was a seamless experience. Oh, and for the kids, the thrills of rides and theme parks and excitement is only about 40 minutes away in nearby Pigeon Forge! Best of both worlds!

Family Getaway

Quick weekend getaway with family! The house was very well appointed and perfect for our group of 6. Gorgeous view, beautiful sunrises, and quiet evenings on the deck overlooking the lake. Dana and Chris were very communicative and quick to respond to any thing we asked. I would definitely revisit this property!

Stellar House

One of my favorite places we've stayed. The house had everything we needed and more. Things for kids and grown ups: karaoke, pool table, smart TV, kayaks, fire pit, gas BBQ grill, FOUR bathrooms, well stocked kitchen. And the million dollar view! Absolutely stunning. Secluded enough to feel private but close enough to do all the activities in town or the Nat'l Park. Also can't say enough about how lovely and attentive the hosts were. Would 100% recommend!

What a lovely location! Breathtaking views of Douglas Lake with incredible sunrises. We saw Deer, Eagles and a very close-up Hawk. We enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen for cooking meals, the pool table and the beauty of the peace and quiet.

Spacious Relaxing Retreat

Our family had an outstanding week at Rise and Shine cabin. The cabin was clean and ready when we arrived. The views are great, and it was so relaxing to grab a cup of coffee and sit on the deck in the morning. The dock was perfect for fishing, swimming, and boating. We brought a small 2 person sailboat and rented a pontoon boat from H2O water sports. Dana and Chris were excellent hosts. They called us when we booked and when we checked in, but otherwise they left us alone to enjoy our vacation. The cabin was well stocked with cooking amenities, games, books, WiFi, water toys, and other fun things. The pool table was great and so was the karaoke stage. We loved sitting by the fire at night after a long day of playing at the lake. We can’t recommend this cabin enough. It was the perfect vacation.

Paradise on the Lake

Can't beat the views! Beautiful place! I would definitely stay again! You have everything you need for your stay and a host that answers quickly every time. This is a win win. The views of the mountains and lake are incredible. The fact that you are just a short simple walk from your door to your own dock on the lake is awesome. They provide floaties, kayaks and a paddle boat for those that don't bring a boat. The area is peaceful and quiet but close enough to enjoy Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg in under 45 minutes. You won't be disappointed and you won't want to leave. Better book a few extra nights.....

Amazing stay

The property is beautiful. The home is very comfortable and very well equipped. The owners are excellent communicators and checked in with me every day to make sure we were comfortable. I recommend waking up early to catch the sunrise, it’s spectacular!

Family getaway

We booked the Rise and Shine cabin for a weekend family thanksgiving getaway. Dana was very kind to call and let’s us know about the cabin and answer any questions that we might have. We were very pleased when we arrived. The place was beautiful, clean, well stocked and very spacious for our family of 8. The king beds were comfortable, and the water pressure was great. The view was beautiful, watching the sun rise, seeing the wildlife; deer, herons and a bald eagle that flew over the lake. Our family had fun singing karaoke, playing pool, and we built a fire in the fire pit. Our grandson enjoyed having the Bear’s Den as his own little room, playing with the stuffed animals, and reading the books. Rise and Shine is a beautiful place to stay, relax and enjoy family time together.

Loving Rise and Shine

Booking ease was excellent. Owners provided so much information about the property that it made planning super easy. Views of lake and mountains from every window were stunning.. Cabin was clean, up to date and gorgeous. Lots of amenities provided. Access and proximity to area attractions was very convenient.

Fabulous cabin with lake views and mountains!

We stayed in Chris and Dana's cabin these past four days and it was amazing! Great views, beautiful cabin and the best birding we have done in years, right off the deck! Two mature eagles and two juvenile eagles, delighted us, six to 8 times per day with their fly by acrobatics! . Plus many, many other birds as well. Dana is a wonderful host to this incredible cabin! Avoid delay and book this one immediately! 5 star view and accomodations!

Relaxing

Relaxing , wonderful morning views, quiet. Dana and Chris did a wonderful job having everything in the house you might need kitchen and otherwise! Mornings and evenings just fantastic! How many times do you leave a vacation rental already making plans to stay there again?

If you need a place to get away from it all, this is your place. Peaceful, relaxing and so enjoyable. The beautiful sunrises, the quietness of your surroundings, the feeling like you have the entire lake to yourself, the deep claw foot tub to relax in, the fun karaoke machine, the wildlife that frequents the lake, deck furniture that just invites you to lose yourself in a good book, three very comfy couches throughout the house for everyone to relax on, the “bear den” for your littles to call a place of their own, a huge dining room table for your family to gather round with lakefront view, floor to ceiling windows
seriously. Keep in mind, you will not want to leave once you get here so buy your groceries accordingly. Don’t worry
the kitchen is well-stocked. And then there’s your hostess. Dana is in a league all her own. We’ve stayed at several vacation homes and no one has came close to her hospitality. Even before we opened the door to her beautiful home, Dana felt more “friend” than “hostess”. She definitely brings the “and then some”. She even went as far as to make sure there were toys there for our littles to enjoy. I hesitate to truly expound on just how perfect this place is because I want to make sure it’s not booked solid when we want to stay again
it’s truly that great.

Beautiful peaceful location

Loved staying here, everything was great from the comfortable beds, beautiful views, very clean. Dana was very attentive and checked in several times to make sure our stay was going well. Complementary bottle of wine was a very nice touch! Loved the bathtub and pool table and karaoke kept us entertained at night, kayaks during the day . I only wish there was a gulf cart or magic wings to get you up the hill from the lake as it is quite the hike! but my legs are stronger for it :) We shared the property with others and didn't even know they were there. Wish we could have stayed longer, would deffinatley stay here again. Thank you Chris and Dana!

Most beautiful setting and thoughtful hosts

This house is an amazing place to stay. The views are breathtaking. We usually give ourselves a break from cooking when we are on vacation, but after arriving we decided we did not want to eat out every night and take advantage of the amazing views at dinner! The lake provides a great place to fish, swim and kayak. The hosts are thoughtful and so organized. They provide you with a list of things you need to bring along with what you do not need to bring and suggestions with what to do in the area. If you are searching and searching for the right place to stay, this is a true gem.

Awesome getaway

Loved the property and location. It was a quiet location and awesome lake views. Close enough to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge for shopping and eating but away from all the people. Loved the place and will definitely be back. Great communication from the owners and they checked in on us multiple times before we arrived and while we were there.

Beautiful and private

We enjoyed our stay at this lake house! We rented a pontoon boat one day. Had fun with paddle boat and kayaking! Very nice cabin and we would recommend it to other families! Get your supplies before you settle in the House! Once you are there yiu can unpack and just enjoy!
