This place has a lot going for it. It's got good space for lots of people, it's close enough to town for convenience while also feeling secluded, the game room is well-equipped, and the theater, gym, and pool house are nice touches and amenities you don't find everywhere. The house was clean, and the welcome basket of snacks and coffee was a nice touch. If you're planning to fish in the pond or enjoy the community firepit, you either have to drive down or walk down a steep path, and we did not have any luck catching fish - not even a nibble (but maybe the wrong season?). Something I wish had been better for the price of this rental is our level of comfort. The couch and chairs have a low back or no cushion (wooden stools). The beds are metal and/or slatted platforms with thin, hard mattresses and thin pillows and thin sheets with no mattress pads. Two of the showers are small, corner inserts (like you'd find in an RV), and the water is very hot, so be careful to test before getting in. The gas fireplace is lovely, except the timer loudly ticks down. Overall, we had a fine experience here. I do recommend this rental, depending on your priorities and needs.

Just want to say we had so much fun in this cabin! The views are beautiful, and the atmosphere was quiet, secluded, and peaceful.Some of the highlights:The wrap-around balcony with screened porch gave beautiful views down to the pond and the creek. And the sound of the creek below made things so tranquil.The downstairs area with the hot tub, game room, and theater was our most used space. We watched movies every night of our stay, and it was a great experience for kids and adults alike. We played pool, air hockey, ping pong, and Foosball (once we fixed the table). And the retro arcade games were a blast.So much space! With the various bedroom, screened patio and balconies, multiple floors, loft area table, etc. this cabin gave the family (of 12) ample space to spread out. We had our communal areas, but it was easy to go off on your own for some alone time if that was desired. I especially liked the various sitting areas on the balcony.Well-kept and clean. We felt comfortable the entire time, and we could tell the cabin is well-maintained between stays.

We had a great stay! The cabin was large enough to fit our family of 12 and the bottom floor was nice to have since we had 5 kids with us. About the only time they came up was to eat since they had a wholenfloor to themselves. We also enjoyed the wrap aroud porches for playing games or sitting out in the evenings. The community was also nice and we made use of the fire pit at the bottom of the hill which is very close and included firewood.

The host responded when notified about a problem with a light in the pool house but did not send someone to fix it.The ceiling fan light in the living flickers due to a short. Very annoying. Needs to be repaired. The "communal" fire pit was not easily accessible and to represent it as such is a lie. We would have to drive to the fire pit and the "playground. ". Both are not truly available.

We absolutely loved how spacious and comfortable this cabin was—it truly felt like home. The Christmas tree by the fireplace was such a special touch, and we were able to capture some wonderful photos there. The kitchen was roomy and fully stocked, making it perfect for cooking meals and baking treats. The home was very kid-friendly, with plenty of space for our kids to spread out and play. The host was wonderful to work with—very responsive and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable during our stay. We would highly recommend this cabin!

We had a great stay in this beautiful cabin. Small details throughout. The pool was nice, hot tub was great. Little extras throughout like board games, books, and a high chair and playpen that ended up saving my niece's sleep as her baby needed a safe space for sleep. We absolutely loved the house! We should have navigated our time better and come during daylight. The house was extremely well pointed and stocked. We enjoyed every minute of our family vacation thanks to Charlotte and the amazing cabin! The views from the balcony’s were breathtaking and the layout of the house was perfect for all of the different families staying! Everyone was able to have their own space, but the shared spaces were large enough for all of us to hang out together and enjoy dinner, movies, games, etc. We had kids of all ages as well as adults and the house was well suited for everyone. The location was the perfect distance to every destination we wanted to go to during our week long stay. Charlotte’s quick responses and help to ensure we had a great trip was much appreciated. Thank you for an amazing first annual family vacation!

Large Family Black Bear Hideaway Review

Our group recently stayed at this cabin in the Smoky Mountains and overall had a good time, though there were definitely some areas for improvement.Pros:The cabin itself is spacious and well-laid out, making it ideal for a large party or family gathering. The surrounding community is beautiful and peaceful, with plenty of amenities including nature trails, a playground, and both indoor and outdoor pools — a great setting for outdoor enthusiasts and families with kids.Cons:Unfortunately, the cabin was not clean upon arrival, which was disappointing. However, to the host’s credit, they were very responsive and quickly sent out a cleaning service to address the issue. We also experienced an unpleasant sewage smell and drainage problems in the bathrooms during our stay.The mattresses were extremely uncomfortable, making restful sleep difficult, and the newly built bunk beds had nails protruding, which was a safety concern. Additionally, the outdoor areas were not well maintained — the paths around the property were uneven and potentially hazardous, especially for small children and older adults.Lastly, the grill provided was not functional. We ended up purchasing a charcoal grill ourselves and left it behind for future guests to enjoy.Final Thoughts:This property has a lot of potential. Overall we made lasting memories on subpar sleep. My main point of feedback for the host would be to invest in comfortable mattresses and a plumber.

Wonderful Time!!

What a wonderful and beautiful home! Everything was lovely and clean, kitchen well stocked. Loved the fact there was a griddle and a crockpot. The accessories for young children (high chair, pac and play) were just a welcome addition. The hosts supplied us with plenty of beginning paper towels, toilet paper etc. The area was quiet and peaceful. Not to far away from activities yet we felt secluded. Enjoyed sitting on the porch swing! Swimming pool was a good size and even included some toys for the kids. The game room was enjoyable, plenty to do!! Overall a great place to spend our vacation.

AL and NC family get together

From my active 99 year old dad to 6 year old and 10 year old year niece’s and all in betweenHad a fantastic time at Dollywood, hiking in the Smokies, going to Dinner shows 
Had a fantastic time and the cabin was ideal. They listed a coffee grinder in their supply list but we couldnt find it. I contacted the host and the next morning there was a new coffee grinder on the front porch even though i insisted it was ok. Absolutely the best!!!!!!
