Check-in was very pleasant and the front desk informed us the street in front of the hotel would be blocked from taxi access the morning of our departure, October 19, due to an organized race. I was informed that the conceirge would be able to assist us with taxi service upon our departure. On the morning of the 19th. I called the front desk to have a porter take our bags. I then went to concierge desk to get some assistance regarding taxi service. The concierge said the roads are blocked and we would have to walk some distance to get a taxi. He could identify the location for the nearest taxi stand. We then got our bags from the porter who also could not identify where would could get a taxi.
This was our first time in Seville and neither my wife nor I speak very much Spanish. Ultimately we carried our bags for about 15 minutes and located a taxi stand.
The staff should have been better prepared for this situation and at the very least provide a map with a time estimated for walking to the nearest available taxi stand.
The lack of preparation and professionalism shown by the staff does not place your hotel in a very favorable light.
