Like: Excellent customer service, all staff were professional, nice and helpful. Concierge helped me book train tickets when I checked out. Don't like: 1. The check in process was horrible; I booked the room 2 months in advance, and paid in full. Arrived after 5pm after a long flight, and the room was not ready, had to wait, then when I came up the room, the cleaning lady was still cleaning the room. 2. The carpet in the hall is so dirty and worn out, I feel bad for my shoes.

The river view was amazing from our room, though the room structure was a bit odd. Staff was pleasant and able to converse in English which was a relief. Location of the property is excellent and there is a shuttle service to nearby locations that is very convenient.

We had a truly comfortable and luxurious stay at the Mandarin Oriental. From the beautiful setting to the thoughtful details, everything felt special and well taken care of. Although we encountered a small issue during our stay, the staff responded with great attentiveness and professionalism, welcoming our feedback with a positive attitude. They even surprised our toddler with a lovely gift, which made the experience extra memorable for our family. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we would be happy to return.

This hotel really delivers the iconic Mandarin Oriental experience. The staff are courteous, professional, and attentive. The property is gorgeous. I was a bit worried that the entire property might be a bit dated, but I have a feeling like the photos don't reflect fully the actual state of the facilities and rooms here. We booked a standard room with two beds and it was very very spacious and modern looking. The spa facilities here are also terrific. The breakfast buffet has got a ton of options and the restaurant is very beautifully designed. However, I was a bit shocked to have had to wait in line for 30 minutes, having come to breakfast at 9:20AM. I really recommend coming early. This is not something I encountered in other properties. Other than that, however, this is an absolutely terrific property right in the center of Shanghai.
