Assise juste au-dessus de Little Black Sands Beach, surplombant le Pacifique. Nous avons un sentier à la plage du bas de la propriété. Il s’agit de paix, de détente et d’écoute nocturne des vagues tout en regardant les étoiles sur la voie lactée depuis le bain à remous. A Little Slice of Heaven

We absolutely love it here. As soon as we walk in I open the slider & take it all in and let all my stress go. Even after driving up the mountain in the dark. Which I don't recommend if you can avoid it. Our flight was late so we didn't have a choice. This is our second time staying here. We first came in 2019 for our 20th anniversary and came back for our 25th. The house was very clean & if we had questions the host answered us very quickly. We highly recommend staying here. The location is breathtaking. We were able to watch the whales & seals. My husband fished off the shore & had a blast. There are so many different sights to see. The view from the deck is the most gorgeous spot around. You can sleep with the slider & all the windows open and not have a worry. Let the sound of the ocean sing you to sleep. We will be back again. again!

Great stay

Really nice place. We so enjoyed it. Master Bedroom gets a little cold, but the space heater helped. We'll be coming back, really enjoyed it. Simy is a great host. Everyone just keep in mind, there really are limited eating out options. 3 restaurants only, within an hour of you. Pizza takeout only place, a brewery that's really good, and a Vietnamese place. The Vietnamese place is hardly ever open and the brewery closes up shop at 8pm on Saturdays. Bring your own food!

Amazing

The view from the house is absolutely breathtaking! It is a beautiful home with a wonderful hot tub that overlooks the black sands beach. It is also very close to the Redwoods national parks and trails. It was an incredible house and we had such an incredible time we hope to come back again soon!

Best view in Shelter Cove

I spent two nights here in July 2022 as part of a road trip up California’s North Coast and was very happy with my choice. This penthouse may be only one story up from street level, but it’s more than 200 feet above the ocean so it feels like you are on the 20th floor of a skyscraper. The luxury here is the incredible, 180-degree whitewater view of the Pacific. Down below you to the west are waves breaking on Little Black Sands Beach; there are no other houses between you and the water. (The “big” Black Sands Beach where there’s a trailhead for the Lost Coast Trail is a half-mile away.) To the south is the main part of Shelter Cove, with waves crashing on the rocks below. To the north are the high mountainsides of the King Range plunging down to the sea. There are very few houses in Shelter Cove that are this close to the ocean and this high above it, with a completely unobstructed view. Note: The late afternoon sun was VERY bright, but when it got too much I just lowered the shades and later enjoyed the beautiful sunset from the big oceanside deck. Regarding the bed… some reviewers found it too soft, but I thought it was fine, and I like firm beds; I slept very well on it. The owner is very hospitable. I would be happy to rent this property again.

Great stay with fantastic views!

We had a wonderful time for our 4 night stay at this beautiful penthouse! It's perfect for 2, had everything we needed (we cooked almost every night there) and it felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves during the week after the Memorial Day holiday. Even when people stayed in the lower unit, we didn't see or hear them. It's a great jumping off point for seeing lots of cool things-- in Shelter Cove itself, the walk down to Little Black Sands Beach and Mal Coombs Park with the harbor and stellar sea lions (we were lucky enough to also see otters playing in the waves) and then Sinkyone State Park, which has a little bit of a scary narrow road that you have to drive down, but is worth it to hike to Bear Harbor Camp and back (around 6 miles total). But the best part was coming back to hot tub, watch the sun set, and star gaze afterwards. Our best day was just staying in, and only popping out to Gyppo Ale Mill for heir delicious fish and chips. It's just beautiful, so we were very sad to leave, but hope to be back!

Perfect!

We enjoyed every second of our stay!! The house had everything we needed and the general store up the road was surprisingly very well stocked, we managed to find all the ingredients we needed for our meals. I would definitely take the recommendation of our host and try to make it to the location prior to sunset, those winding hairpin turns in the last 20 miles of the drive are much easier to drive during daylight! Our stay was overall exactly what we needed. We lucked out in having no other residents/guests on the entire road during our stay, keeping it peaceful, relaxing and quiet. Amazing views, perfect space, everything needed for a short getaway. Our host, Simy was responsive and accommodating when needed and we would love to come back for another future stay!! Thank you for everything!!

Secluded, Front Row Seat to the Pacific!

This property has it all- peace and quiet, privacy and ocean views that are stellar. During our stay, we would leave the sliding door open most of the time just to hear the crashing waves right below us. The sounds of the ocean, the fresh scent of the dense greenery nearby and the coziness of this penthouse made this stay memorable. I'll definitely plan to return in the future- and hopefully during warmer weather and sunnier skies (my stay was right around the first rain for this area but still so lovely). Through booking to checkout, Simy was available almost 24/7 to answer questions. He provides lots of reading and reference materials, responds very quickly to messages and has so many ways to reach him. Having him just a WhatsApp message away was great and helped me feel better should anything arise. He's very prompt and displays a genuine interest in his guests enjoying their stay. I've read that some carrier services are weak in this area but I didn't have these issues. I have ATT and had at least two bars+LTE the entire stay. I didn't even need the internet as I just set-up my Hot Spot and we were set during the stay. It's strong enough to browse social media, text and talk but didn't try streaming services. From the 101 exit in Redway and down to the property, it's about 20 miles but a solid one-hour traversing of the hillside. Be ready for a bending road, slow speeds and be careful around some of the sharp turns. Once you've made it down, the views, ocean sounds and awe of the natural beauty will be your Reward! Overall, it was a great stay and miniature escape from the Bay Area to reset. I look forward to a future visit at this property.

Simply Amazing!

What a wonderful gem on the California coast! This property is just stunning - the views alone are worth the stay. You're perched up on a cliff overlooking Little Black Sands beach with prime sunset views. The hot tub is especially nice in the evenings when the stars come out (and oh my, can you see SO many stars - even the Milky Way!). The house is just a few minutes drive from local restaurants, although it is fully stocked if you plan on cooking for yourselves (we did a combination of both). The road is a little windy and steep at some points to get down to Shelter Cove, but totally worth it if this is your end destination. We will definitely be back!

An Absolute Dream

This property is an absolute GEM! Everything in the house was perfect and to top it off, it overlooked one of the most beautiful views of the California Coast I have ever seen. There is a hot tub on the deck to watch the sunset and stars - can a place get any more serene? This location should not be missed and I loved every minute of staying here! Highly, highly, highly recommend! I can't wait to come back!

Fabulous getaway

Beautiful vista. Clean and spacious house. Cozy fireplace. Hot tub fun but we wish we could increase beyond 102 degrees. Only concern was house wifi did not work during our entire stay. Notified manager who provided limited coupon for one device on short term basis.
